Driving from NY to MK

We will be driving from NY (only way we can afford to go) to Disney the end of March. Has anyone done this route and what is a good half way or more than half way place to stay on the way down.

Not much new info there but what is there is very helpful. What I've seen is that either Roanoke Rapids , NC or Rocky Mount , NC seem to be the most popular stop-overs for trips from NY. My In-Laws always stay in Roanoke Rapids every year. Lots of Hotels to choose from and it is close to half-way. Good Luck.

We drove down to WDW from Boston last March.
It was non stop and easier than I thought it would be for the 3 of us; me, my wife and 3 year old daughter.

I also have driven to Fla from Mass within the last month.

24 1/2 hours, but I was pulling a trailer. It was just DS and myself and we also drove straight thru. Took the I95 route not too many problems. Delays in NJ on the pike, MD (night paving) and in GA with an accident in a construction zone (over an hour delay)

Try not to hit Jax during rush hour and if you do, tough it out as I295 at the end is under major construction and it was far better on 95.

23 1/2 hours on the return trip (empty trailer)

Stopped for gas and breaks when needed.

In the past when we thought that we might stop for the night, we stayed in Fredericksburg. Plenty of places there.
