ok, I feel silly posting this,as many of the posts I read are coming from NY, Maine etc. Anyway, we plan to leave around 12 pm on Tuesday and I think we can make it all the way to Orlando (our kids are 5, 2 and 1 , so you never know.) My question: if we get as far as Daytona, should we just suck it up and drive all the way into Orlando that night, or would I4 be ok to drive on the next morning?
Once in Orlando, are there any "seedy" sections or areas to stay away from when making ressies? I see many on International Drive and around the airport, along with Kissemee/Maingate-which is the straightest shot from the highway? What would be the best area to avoid lots of traffic the next morning? I would prefer something easy to find,as it will be very late when we arrive. THanks-this will be our first trip-we are so excited and don't want the drive to start things off on a bad note!!

We drove from central NC this past June and were pleasantly surprised by the drive. We are about 2 hours from I-95 at Florence. We left at 5 pm and arrived at Kingsland, GA at 11. Slept in, left at 10 and arrived at WDW at 1 pm. We decided to break up the drive on the way down. Coming back, we drove it in one day.

As far as seedy sections, I would think you would be OK staying near WDW--either the southern part of I-Drive or 192. I hate I-4, and wouldn't like to spend much time there in the am.
