Driving from MCO to Port Canaveral

We already bought transfers from Disney, but I'm considering dropping that portion of my ressie and simply renting a car. The thought behind this is that we'll be able to stop and pick up some groceries prior to getting to the port.

Any recommendations?

Is it a difficult drive from MCO to Port Canaveral? I have a fear of getting lost and "missing the boat" as they say.

Does anyone know of a site that gives driving directions?

Thanks!!!!!

We always rent a car right in the airport terminal (we usually rent from AVIS). They give you a map to several popular areas and if you tell them where you're heading they'll also go over the directions with you. My DD usually drives (she's an adult), and she has the world's worst sense of direction but even she has no problem getting us to Port Canaveral as it's almost a straight shot from MCO to PC.

This is what we did. It saves money and adds flexibility. WELL worth it. From the Airport, take the Bee Line East. Follow until you see the ship. You won't miss it!

Check out www.dcltribute.com for local directions around the port to drop off the car and get groceries, etc.
