We're going to be making the drive from Des Moines in a few weeks. We're leaning the St. Louis-Nashville-Atlanta-Orlando route, so I'm mainly looking for suggestions on logical overnight stopping points. I tried to fight for making the entire trip in 2 days, but I lost and we're doing 2.5. Initial thoughts are a night in Paducah and a night somewhere south of Atlanta (Macon, Tifton, Valdosta). Coming back will be another question...
We aren't really planning on any sight-seeing stops along the way, but would appreciate any recommendations if there are any places that would be good to stop and see. Or great restaurants.
The last part of my route planning includes beer stops. Visiting new states of course means finding beer I can't get in Iowa... If anyone has thoughts on such a topic, I'd like to hear them. I know KY sees FFF, so that's definitely on the radar.
