This is gonna be our first trip to the land
We re renting a car for a few days from DTD

We re wanting to drive to Hollywood on a Sunday & park in the main multi storey lot by the Walk of Fame ( sorry don't know it's name).
We figured we d get up early to miss any if the traffic I keep reading about

Was just wondering if the drive from Hojo to Hollywood is quite straight forward??
Is it well sign posted from Anaheim
Are newbies to the area likely to get lost ??

Any help / advice is greatly appreciated

Thankyou

I would mapquest the directions. But it is a pretty easy drive on a weekend up the 5 30-45 minutes if I remember correctly.

The complex is called Hollywood and Highland and your best route is very direct.

Take the 5 North entrance - right next to the HoJo on Harbor, and got north until you get to the 101 freeway - which is a left exit. That will lead you straight downtown and to the Highland/Hollywood Bowl exit. Once off the freeway, head south down Highland about 5 blocks and you are there. You can turn left just after the right lane dumps into Franklin. A gas station is right before the entrance to the parking structure - which will literally take you to the bowels of the earth. Think I'm kidding - just you wait. Make sure to get your parking ticket validated at any of the merchants.

Disney's El Capitain Theater is right across the street!

If you go in the morning - be prepared for extremely heavy traffic until you get through the heart of downtown. Then, you should have clear sailing.

We did that exact drive last week... It was pretty straight forward, get a map from the Rental car place but it is all freeway up to there...

We were checking out of our hotel that day and were using a rental car to sightsee that last day rather than pay for a shuttle... As such an early start was out, in the end we didn't leave Anaheim until 1045am arriving at Hollywood Highland shopping centre at 1145. We went through LA central and got off at Hollywood Blvd, it was well signposted..

The Madame Tussards Waxworks was awesome and right there too... You get 4 hours parking for $2 as long as you validate...

We then drove down through Sunset strip to Rodeo Dr, there is free two hours parking there, look out for the signs...

The shopping at Highland was not that great so we were on the lookout for shopping centre and found one on the corner of Sante Monica Blvd and Century. We ended up there for two hours and had to leave going to Venice beach as we had run out of time and the traffic was getting very thick...

We did the same trek on a Saturday at the end of July.....HoJo to the Highland & Hollywood structure. We left about 10am & got to that area around 11am.....the traffic wasn't bad until the Commerce area & stayed thick until we exited onto the 101. Traffic stayed a bit thick for the first few miles but then started thinning......I wouldn't say the traffic ever was smooth-sailing but it also wasn't bumper to bumper with multiple stops.

Thanks every1 for ur super helpful replies :goodvibes

Am feeling but more confident about not getting totally lost

We re from UK so hubbys not super confident on US roads, only driven in Orlando beforehand which was a total breeze
We re hoping he ll find driving in Anaheim / LA similar in everything being well sign posted & straight forward

Does anyone know how much parking is at the Hollywood & Highland Centre parking structure?

TIA :goodvibes
