Hi Everyone

We are driving to Orlando Mar 1 and wonder if anyone recommends a particular route?

We drove once before in May and went I95 and drove overnight but the mountains and all the deer at the side of the road has me a bit scared this time of year.

Is it really 3 hours longer to go I75?

Thanks for any advice and BTW, we did pick up Dave Hunters book so thank you so much to everyone who mentioned it!! It looks great!

Hi. From Paris Ontario. We are also driving down, heading out on Feb.29 or March1. We always go I-75. Love the route with the help of Dave Hunter. We always make our first stop over the border in Detroit for Bob Evans breakfast. All of our Dis Friends should put something on thier car/van so we recognize each other. Both DD's, 14 & 18 plus me Love:love: watching for out of state license plates too. Hope to see yous, on our travel down.

We should put a Mickey Sticker on our van or something like that to recognize each other!! Great Idea!

How long does it take you to get there on the I75? Do you drive right through?

:lmao:

Were heading down too but on March 6 and if the snow comes and the weather is bad then we head I75. If the weather is good then we head Buffalo way down I77/79 and the tunnels. We found that the Buffalo way is much quicker. We do drive straight through and stop about 7 times or less during the 23 hrs drive. We leave here usually around 4pm and get to Kissimee around 4-6pm the next night. Knock out for the night at a comfort in and then head to disney the next morning. Both ways are very good and both have many canadians along the way driving with you. Both ways we found we were never alone on the roads for more then 5 minutes at a time. If the weather is bad then we will see you on I75 with the blue van and the 3 kids with there new portable DVD players watching away (no fighting anymore:lmao: )

We usually leave from Sarnia (after picking up the rest of the family) and are headed out on March 2nd. I75 is for sure the best route - especially if the weather is bad. It is a good 24 hour trek but that takes into account stopping an hour for meals. We do it in 2 days - one overnight in Georgia. Good idea to plan your trip to hit the mountains during daylight.

We travel via I77/I79, as we live in the Niagara Region and it is closer for us. This may not be a good way during the winter due to the snow belt in NY and the mountains.

This a great way during any other season. We make great time, last Sept. We kept track of the actual driving time and it was only 16 1/2hrs.

We also live in Hamilton and use the I79/I77 route, but if the weather was bad we would head over to I75, but I'm not sure if we would head over through Canada or the US (I haven't really looked into this as we usually drive in April/May and weather hasn't been a concern). When I was a kid we always took I75 and by far the worse (ie. longest, most boring) part of the drive was from Windsor to where we lived at the time, Sudbury.

I believe we took 175 both times we drove. I believe we went through the border to Michigan, and continued through the following states respectively: Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, until we finally arrive in Florida. :) We go to cross a few bridges, see the different decorative monuments, see the ocean, and pass through some beautiful cities.
