Any suggestions for a midway point between Atlanta and Orlando? We will be driving in October, and we want to break up the trip. When we went in April, we stopped at a Zaxby's near Valdosta, but that wasn't the "greatest" pit stop.

Do any of you have any suggestions for a good spot about 4 hours north of Orlando (I-75)?

Thank you!

Surely you just want a place to stop and eat and not spend the night? Heck, pack a cooler lunch and stop at the Florida welcome center for free OJ, lunch at the picnic tables, and hit the road!

The only sleep we will get is in the CAR as the other is driving! LOL! We will be leaving right after work, so most of our traveling will be in the dark (trying to MAXIMIZE the 3-day weekend).

We will probably be stopping for a quick dinner, but I REALLY like your suggestion to pack a cooler with food...that's how my folks used to do it when we took road trips "back in the day."

Thanks for the tip! :-)

lake city is nice or gainesville, FL to spend the night.

Thanks, Hears8701, for the suggestion, but we will not be spending the night. We only live about 7 or 8 hours away, so we are just going to pick up and leave after work.

Appreciate your input, though. I will suggest this rest stop to my friends who have a longer drive. :thumbsup2
