My family and I (DW, DD6, DD2), are driving to WDW from Fairfield, Ct. We plan on leaving at 3 am trying to beat the city trafic. What do you think is a realistic stop over point at about 6 pm the same day. I would like to be in South Carolina if posible. Taking in a lot of rest stops for the kids and DC traffic. Any advice would be great Thanks.

Santee SC is a popular stop. It's right on I-95. There are quite a few good hotels. We leave the next day at 6 am and are on the rides at 1 pm.

Welcome Captain Hook as you see we have a few things in common. I am from SE CT and I love Captain Hook.

My Mom and I are driving down in 25 days May 14. we are leaving at/around 2AM and driving till we can't stand it one more minute. We are hoping to hit southern NC or Northern SC. I know as the other poster said Santee seems to be popular. My family drove a lot as I was growing up and we used to stop around florence.

Hope you have a magical Trip and let me know when your dates are if you don't mind.
