Driving from Chicago this weekend???

We are leaving Christmas Day around 1:00 PM, driving straight thru and getting there around 8:00 AM... Anyone else??? Whats your plans???

We're not doing this today, but when I was growing up we drove from St. Louis to Chicago every Christmas Day. We would stop for lunch at the Dixie (truck stop in McLean, IL) which was halfway. There was never much traffic, and not much open back then. there was always a touching comraderie among the few travelers and those who had to be out working that day. I hope you have a safe trip. Although it was a long drive, we so looked forward to arriving in Chi-town and celebrating Christmas with our extended family. So many years of great memories.

my sister got here last night after driving straight thru from Chicago. It's a trip she makes at least twice a year.
