Driving from Chicago..hotel in Atlanta?

We are planning to meet up with family in Atlanta and travel together from there to Disney. Can anyone reccomend a good hotel? Not too expensive, but not a dump.

Are the family from Atl? If so, can you just stay with them?

Do you want to stop North or South of the city?

No, the family is from NC. We are meeting "in the middle",

I guess we would like to get through Atlanta and, then stop. Wouldn't that be better?

If it's a weekday, I would get south of Atlanta. That way you can avoid the rush hour traffic in the morning.

I'm more familiar with the area north of Atlanta, but the McDonough area to the south is a good area to stop.

Yes, it will be a Friday. So I will check into area South.
