Driving down to Mickey's for Christmas!

Your Aladdin dinner LOOKS to die for! I am practically licking the screen. Now I really have to make that salad! The camel hump cookies and wish ice cream...might have to steal that one myself!

As for the root beer place...sadly does not exist anymore...and I do not think northern Colorado is on your route...a little too far off the path!

Yeah Colorado- not so much on the way:rotfl:!
Thank you! I couldn't figure out anything else to make for dessert so I had to fly by the seam of my pants! And with the whole wheat it comes out a little darker (not burnt but browner) than white flour so it's more like a camel! What were you planning on your next night? When I do Mulan I want to do the fortune fruit cookies!

Hey there, I just caught up on your TR, your plans so far sound great. Love the plans for the road trip. We drive down from Maryland but when we go my DH is on a mission and only stops for food and potty breaks (and even those are limited). They keep trying to convince him to even do South of the Boarder but he won't budge! Hope things work out for your neice, I can imagine how frustraing it is for you.

Thank you, yeah it's a frustrating situation! DH is good with stops- it's just the problem he has is getting off the main road to see them so I added a few things in there that I know he will like (old jail, King Kong- his name is Kaung, the chip factory and a few others)! That way he doesn't say so much when we get off the beaten road for everything! I am going to go read your PTR- I love reading other people's ideas and seeing if there are things that I should change!

I am going with a plan too, although most of the time I make a plan and no one looks over my plan- they agree to just follow- and my plan doesn't pan-out like it should! Hoping that this change will benefit us rather than bring us into more trouble! Still waiting to hear from the travel agent about the choice though!

:rotfl: Isn't that the way it supposed to be...MY PLAN! Guess that is why we are writing PTR! Complusive Planners!

Hey. Your park plans look great. I too noticed that you left Fiding Nemo off of the list for AK, that one is a must I hope you can find the time to do it. Usually when I make it to rope drop I am able to get my list of must do's crossed off by noon, but I also go earlier in December than what you are planning.

You will really want to check out the innovations at Epcot, there's alot for little ones and families to do. You all might enjoy that alot.

Your movie night sounded like so much fun. I have Disney movie night the month before my trip, but it's just me all alone in my craft room watching the movie, my family doesn't care to participate. I need to find me some Disney loving kids.

:rotfl: Isn't that the way it supposed to be...MY PLAN!

:lmao: I love it... It's so true though!

I wnat the recipe for the beek tatki!

This is the recipe I used- from my Eating well in season cookbook, they have others too that change the veggies, but I thought that this one was pretty good and quick too and the only difference between mine and the recipe was that I sliced the steak into slices before browning- they call for slicing after cooking!
Beef Tataki (serves 4)
Need- 1 cup diced radishes, 1 cup sliced carrots, 1/2 cup thinly sliced yellow or red onion, 1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce, 2 tablespoons plus 2 teaspoons lemon juice, 2 tablespoons finely chopped scallions (plus a little for garnish), 2 teaspoons finely grated ginger, 1 pound boneless sirloin steak (3/4-1 inch thick), 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1/4 teaspoon pepper, and 2 teaspoons canola oil.
1- Place the radishes, carrot, and onion in a medium bowl. Cover with cold water and let soak for 5 minutes. Drain.
2- Combine soy sauce, lemon juice, scallions, and ginger in a small bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of the mixture to the vegetables and toss. Set aside the remaining sauce.
3- Season the steak with the salt and pepper. Heat the oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high. Cook the steak 3-4 minutes per side (this will make it rare so cook it longer if your family prefers it- that's why I sliced it first!). Let the meat rest on the cutting board for 5-10 minutes, then thinly slice and place over the vegetables. Drizzle the remaining sauce over the meat and finally serve.

I hope that your family likes it! You can always use different vegetables if you want to get creative!

Well I might actually get to cross everything off by noon like you do because we switched the dates to Dec. 4th-9th (I am going to explain more in a post! But yes I am going to add this on now! thank you Ty!)

You will really want to check out the innovations at Epcot, there's alot for little ones and families to do. You all might enjoy that alot.
That does sound fun- I think that's the one with the fire safety house and such? I do want to do that!

What about your sister? Maybe watch the same movie while being on the- LOL might be fun! If not I am sure that they have Disney kid rentals somewhere, in fact I think that might be an isle in Toys R us!

YAY we found out that DH has 3 weeks vacation as of August (poor guy never takes a break) and he either has to cash out 2 weeks or use them, so I'm using them! I will probably regret this by December 12th when we get back, but we changed our dates to Dec. 4th-9th in Disney, 9th-11th in Georgia (visiting some old friends), 11th-12th at my mom's :sad2:, 12th-13th in Washington DC, and then we should be home by the 14th! Damien is going to miss a bit of school though which is my only concern, but he never really stays home anyway and I hear that there is a "youth program" with a class in a park. I emailed the lady and am waiting for a reply on that- otherwise he's going to have his school work and I am the one that taught him to read and spell and count and everything else so as long as they give me an outline of what they are doing I am sure that he won't miss anything! Anyway, that's all of the news I have for the trip right now. I have been in and out of the boards lately with quick responses (today I did not do anything but really catch up), soccer is going good and spring break is right now- Monk's been asking if he can go back to school:lmao: what kid does that but him? And I planted the black raspberry bush and more of my plants are growing- I should be able to transfer them into the ground by the first week in May! Okay I am going to go to catch up on facebook emails and a few more from here!

A change! I wonder how many people book this far out and don't change dates or resorts. :rotfl: I keep having to resist the urge to change/tinker. Just wait till I can make ADRS... then I can tinker for 6 months! :rotfl2:

OH... did you change resorts?

Can't wait to read all about your new park day plans. :thumbsup2

:lmao:Not sure that DH or his boss will accept more changes:rotfl2: So I am going to try to keep it on a minimum

We are still staying at ASMo- I don't think that we will change that because DS LOVES toy story and is very excited about that- he doesn't really care about anything else! I will have to make new plans, I hear that if I get to EMH in the AM you can get more in than I expected to!

This has nothing to do with the trip, but it has to do with our little soccer team. We are the coaches of the bandits since last season and as long as we continue to be coaches this will be our team and these will be our kids (with the exception of a few take aways and add ons here and there), but this is our team last fall- they are the cutest aren't they?
firstgame002.jpg

I plan to give them an end of season party after every season, but last season ended the week before my son's birthday and all of them were coming, so we took them to McDonald's with a huge play place, paid for all of the kid's meals and a drink for each parent. We let the kids run free, eat and for dessert we got them the soft serve from the counter plus I made a cupcake with green icing and a chocolate soccer ball to match the balls that they have at practice!
digital144.jpg

All of the kids had fun and we gave them favors and each child got a gift (a couple of things from the $1 store) for something that they did (ie-blocking the goal the best, farthest kick, most goals scored, etc) and a certificate signed by me and Coach K! Well I never cleared any of this with the board- I didn't honestly still don't see why if the parents are okay with it- it wasn't mandatory and it was free to them! So I was told that next time I do this I have to bring an end of year party proposal to the board for acceptance! Well I need to do that 1 month before I plan on having this party so that's in about 2 weeks! So I wanted to see if I could run by some of the ideas and maybe get your take on it? My kids are ages 5-7 and this time we will be letting siblings come which range in age from 2-10, so this is what I am planning:
The Saturday after school ends at my house (the yard-front and back-are fully fenced in so we will lock them in here) from 3-6 (most parents have become very close to us and will probably stay a little longer if not everything gets done). We will serve hot dogs, BBQ chicken, and hamburgers with watermelon, salad from my garden, a potato and a macaroni salad, chips and dip and some fruit and veggies to nibble on. For dessert we will have make your own sundaes, decorate your own cupcake, and later in the night we will have smore's! I will ask everyone to bring a change of clothes, a towel, some shoes that they don't mind getting wet but can run in(sandals or water shoes), a bathing suite and to wear all day waterproof sunblock!
These are the activities that I have planned for them-
~buy the pull and push spray guns from the $1 store-1/kid and fill tubs around the yard for them to "fill up" in.
~limbo
~water balloon toss game
~balloon pop game-each child has to sit on the chair with the balloon to see who can pop it first
~ABC relay- there will be 1xmagnetic letter in each eater balloon and they have to one at a time pop the balloon and run the letter to the board on the other side of the yard, come back and tag the next person-who will get all the letters on the board in order 1st.
~Who can pick up the most balloon bits (I can't get ride of this if I have all of the balloon games!)
~using their foot who can kick the water balloon into the goal on the other side of the yard 1st without it popping- if it pops they have to go back to the beginning and get another balloon.
~Who can finish the soccer ball first? I will have a plate with a mound of whip cream and strategically placed chocolate chips to make it look like a soccer ball.
~And between games and for extra non competitive fun I will have a slip and slide and a sprinkler going for them to play!
*With everything they will all win- I will give everyone a little something for finishing because we do that for games now (they each get a lollipop for trying their hardest after a game- that just means not complaining about being tired and trying to run after the ball).
As a favor I am just going to give them a certificate signed by coach K and I and an action photo (1 child will be in Disney at the time of team pictures so instead of an action photo I am going to give him a team picture of everyone that I have taken) of them in a soccer frame-maybe I can find a frame that they can decorate at the party after eating before going back out for games- we don't want any hurt tummies! And music I am thinking just playing beach boys, I think that the girls like Miley Cyrus, and just some country music-it's what I give them at practice and K hates it but they know a lot of words now!

So this would be the order-
~Come and play in the sprinkler/slip and slide
~When everyone gets there start with some games
~Eat
~craft
~soccer ball eating contest
~more games
~ice cream and cupcake
~pick up balloons contest
~give out awards and pictures
~smores/go home

So what do you think? A good plan to show district? Anything that I should change or modify? I am honestly not sure of what they really want to know? We are paying for everything OOP and cannot ask the kids for any donation items or money.

It this for school? Is the soccer part of the school and organized by the school? Is this a private club soccer program? I guess I don't understand why you have to have approval for a party to celebrate the team. Sounds like some people want to call the shots over everyone!

Personally I would not call it a team party, but a family get together (since parents are hanging around and siblings are invited)...

I think your plan looks great...

I love the picture by the way!

I think that we have to clear it because it is run through a program at the schools (so we pay the Longwood Youth sports club and they pay the school so we can use the fields and goals and cafeterias/gyms in the rain and some coach training days). So it's fine I just hate that I have to plan it out and give a report because there are so many things that can happen with so many kids! Practice we have a plan, but sometimes those plans are scrapped because the kids want to do something else or need help in another area that practice. It's a lot of work and worry but I know that our kids are looking forward to it- and my son sees my buying things here and there and reports back to the team what he's seen in the soccer box! Well we invite siblings to practice too and make them a team that we compete against at practice because we only have 8 kids an sometimes there are 2 that have problems getting to practice all of the time!
But thank you for letting me know they sound good! I hope that I have enough planned to entertain them and keep them busy! I have debated on letting them bring a friend because I know that if some of the neighbors Damien plays with come over to play I won't turn them away (I feel that's not right for me to do, plus I just moved in in December I don't want any enemies:scared1:)! But that adds a lot more parents and then kids and I do want it to be about the team. Yeah I don't think that I will have friends come, just siblings that's enough I think and Damien has no siblings so if any of the 4 neighborhood kids want to come that's fine with me!

Thank you about the picture! They have such different personalities (especially the twins), but just seem to get along so well!

Sorry I have not been on in awhile I was really busy with Easter and then on Monday I found out my mom had been in ICU in North Carolina since Sunday, but now is getting better and should make a good recovery and leave with a pace maker! I was worried because I was going to see her in December and was frightened that I might not have. I'm glad that we will now though! Other than that I haven't really been thinking about the trip though! I was asked yesterday from someone how the trip was going and I told them I can't do much because the hours don't come out until June and I can't make ADR's until June 21st- BUT THEN.... I remembered------ I changed my dates!!!!! I can now make ADR's on JUNE 7th!!!!! So I have to get cracking, I know that there were a few that I wanted to change!

And I think that comparing the DDP with the DxDP I am going to switch to the DDP because my son and I are more morning people so we want to get the EMH in the morning and not do the character breakfasts so we get a jump start on the rides (we will however have something when we get in the parks like a muffin or bagel or pastry or something like that)! Then for lunch we will do QS and for dinner we will all sit down together (I am sure that DH is going to meet us in the parks at like 10am he says:rolleyes:we'll ee abou that though) for dinner at a nice place to eat before heading back to the hotel a little earlier for sleep- I am not going to have my son take breaks in the day because we are going to get back to the hotel by about 7-8pm and during the day I am going to give him 1/2-1 hour just to play in the different playgrounds in each park! So I am hoping that this new sort of travel plan works! PLUS with switching to the the DDP we have over $200 that we planned on but are not using now, so maybe we will just go to the MVMCP one of the nights that we are there and in someone elses TR they mentioned that you don't go to MK the day of MVMCP because you can get in later anyway! So the only thing that I worry about that with is that it's so late! I know that if we do plan on it we will do it on an animal kingdom day since that park closes at 5 we can go take showers and change before the party at MK! And the pirate cruise I keep forgetting to call about that- I am confused if they have 2 times or just one and if it's just the 9:30am time he's going to have to choose between the Ohana breakfast and the cruise because he would be on the cruise at that time!

I think your plans for your team party sound great! You guys are awesome coaches, our team parties have always been at a local pizza place or just on the picnic tables in the park.

Thank you! I try to because they are really good and do try really hard- it's like a prize!

Right now DH feels a little bad for me... so he's been listening to anything I have been talking about to keep my mind from wondering back to my mom! So I have been on Disney for the last hour and a half just getting different quotes and so on because I have nothing else to do but some dishes:rotfl:! Anyway I have been saying the numbers under my breath and jotting down notes and he's glanced at them and to his shock he saw that if we downgraded from the DxDP to the regular dining plan we save a ton even with paying for the missed items out of pocket! So he tells me go for it! *:rotfl2:right now the heavens opened up and angels were singing hallelujah:lmao:*! So I showed him the numbers and just again under my breath said I just really wish that we would have had another day for a park we really liked (since we only had 4 days we were going to do 1 park/day). And sighed I mean it is only $15 for us to add another day for the 3 of us and I really want to have 2 days for Epcot! So he tells me show me the price..... I bring it up! And WOW he says so email the travel agent and let her know! :scared1: This face is what I looked like after hearing grumpy say that!!!! So I did and this is what we are going to get:

Still ASMo (hoping that the requests for Toy Story building hold up because it's DS's favorite movie!
Dec 3rd- Dec 9th with 5 day non park hoppers and no water parks and the DDP!

I am excited! I quickly (of course after emailing because I know if I didn't do that first he might change his mind) got onto the restaurants and tried to get him involved with it, but I guess I was just trying to push too much? He turned off the show we were watching and turned on the PS3! OOOO my little Monkey is going to be so surprised! He thinks that we aren't going until the time that Santa comes- I want to surpirse him because it sounds so fun, but he has a lot of sensory issues, so I'm not sure that it's a good idea! I will wait until we get closer to decide! If we are going to surprise him I want to just put him in the car after dinner and say that we are going to go to the city! When he wakes up we will be at the jail (he loves police men and wants to be one if he can't be a marine biologist) and then I will find some sort of surprise way to tell him there when he wakes up! He won't see the luggage or anything as it will be in the trunk with his travel bag and such! So for this I am happy!

I love how plans can change. I think it makes this year of planning so much fun. (maybe a tad stressful, but fun ;)) How cool that this change ended in an extra day! :woohoo:
