Driving down to Mickey's for Christmas!

I love how plans can change. I think it makes this year of planning so much fun. (maybe a tad stressful, but fun ;)) How cool that this change ended in an extra day! :woohoo:

I know a whole extra day! I would like to spend it in Epcot because I love travel and want a whole day in the world showcase alone, but not sure DS would like that? He would probably want MK or AK but I'm not sure yet! maybe if we show him the kin possible stsuff and the kidcots he'll want to stay!

Yay for an extra day! Now you can start working for another day, lol!

Sweeten it by adding a little treat at each country! I just read a blog about getting a piece of candy from each country. I will see if I can find the link. I like the idea of trying some type of food from each country...and for the big people a drink...that is in our plands. And make (or buy) a passport for him to collect autographs from CM and how to say hello in each country! Maybe a small deposable camera and let him take pictures in each country of things he finds neat!!!!

Had to back track a bit to catch up .... :)

Anyway.... I was VERY SHOCKED to see that my DH watched the movie with us! I didn't know that he had never seen the movie and understood it. In his country they watched it in english but didn't understand it so this was special!
I love family movie nights. So cool that your dh joined in the fun

We started the night with some beef tataki and quinoa salad- I wanted to do cous cous but I didn't have any in the house and didn't feel like going out for some...

Awesome food. Love the salad!

Then as we watched the movie we each had our own Genie lamp and drew what it would look like if we could live inside (DH drew a pillow and said he would just meditate- I did not take a picture of a blue square-sorry!)

Damien's Lamp came complete with a TV and video game system that he's playing, a Christmas tree (we told him after the Christmas trees go up we go to Disney so this ensures that he gets to go to Disney everyday he said!), some Christmas lights, and he tried to copy mine and drew a bed in the top of the lamp (you can see he's sleeping from the ZZZ's). The circles throughout the picture are his bakugans- he said that they would fill up the rest of the space and a robot to play with him!
movienights004.jpg

My lamp was a little more simple! I had a hammock bed from the roof of my lamp, a robot to clean and water my plants, a dresser that I could open the drawer and any type of fashion that I wanted was there and the jewelry box on top did the same, but with jewels! Oh and let's not forget my tub- my own personal tub that was at a constant warm temp filled with never ending bubbles! And of course I am sleeping in my bed in the picture!
movienights005.jpg

Love the pictures. I think my kids are too old to really enjoy this but it's a great idea!

To me dessert was a little hard- I didn't know what to do! So I made my whole wheat sugar cookies and called them "camel's hump cookies" and DH loves Ben and jerry's banana split ice cream so I got a pint of that and called it "Genie's make a wish ice cream"
movienights003.jpg

very creative and fun!

Not everything related directly to Aladdin, but my son had a good time and DH did as well.... I really hope that we can continue these every week until Disney! I really thank some of the other people's PTR that I am reading- they gave me lots of inspiration!

this really is a great idea. Last time we went my dd and I watched all the disney movies we could about 2 weeks before we left. I even have a number of early Mickey videos that we watched. It really made the build up to the day even more fun! I'm sure we will do something like that again this time

YAY we found out that DH has 3 weeks vacation as of August (poor guy never takes a break) and he either has to cash out 2 weeks or use them, so I'm using them! I will probably regret this by December 12th when we get back, but we changed our dates to Dec. 4th-9th in Disney, 9th-11th in Georgia (visiting some old friends), 11th-12th at my mom's :sad2:, 12th-13th in Washington DC, and then we should be home by the 14th! Damien is going to miss a bit of school though which is my only concern, but he never really stays home anyway and I hear that there is a "youth program" with a class in a park. I emailed the lady and am waiting for a reply on that- otherwise he's going to have his school work and I am the one that taught him to read and spell and count and everything else so as long as they give me an outline of what they are doing I am sure that he won't miss anything! Anyway, that's all of the news I have for the trip right now. I have been in and out of the boards lately with quick responses (today I did not do anything but really catch up), soccer is going good and spring break is right now- Monk's been asking if he can go back to school:lmao: what kid does that but him? And I planted the black raspberry bush and more of my plants are growing- I should be able to transfer them into the ground by the first week in May! Okay I am going to go to catch up on facebook emails and a few more from here!
Ah the date change game! So far all is still set in my house. But it's early yet, who knows what will happen! :rotfl2:

Right now DH feels a little bad for me... so he's been listening to anything I have been talking about to keep my mind from wondering back to my mom! So I have been on Disney for the last hour and a half just getting different quotes and so on because I have nothing else to do but some dishes:rotfl:! Anyway I have been saying the numbers under my breath and jotting down notes and he's glanced at them and to his shock he saw that if we downgraded from the DxDP to the regular dining plan we save a ton even with paying for the missed items out of pocket! So he tells me go for it! *:rotfl2:right now the heavens opened up and angels were singing hallelujah:lmao:*! So I showed him the numbers and just again under my breath said I just really wish that we would have had another day for a park we really liked (since we only had 4 days we were going to do 1 park/day). And sighed I mean it is only $15 for us to add another day for the 3 of us and I really want to have 2 days for Epcot! So he tells me show me the price..... I bring it up! And WOW he says so email the travel agent and let her know! :scared1: This face is what I looked like after hearing grumpy say that!!!! So I did and this is what we are going to get:

Still ASMo (hoping that the requests for Toy Story building hold up because it's DS's favorite movie!
Dec 3rd- Dec 9th with 5 day non park hoppers and no water parks and the DDP!

I am excited! I quickly (of course after emailing because I know if I didn't do that first he might change his mind) got onto the restaurants and tried to get him involved with it, but I guess I was just trying to push too much? He turned off the show we were watching and turned on the PS3! OOOO my little Monkey is going to be so surprised! He thinks that we aren't going until the time that Santa comes- I want to surpirse him because it sounds so fun, but he has a lot of sensory issues, so I'm not sure that it's a good idea! I will wait until we get closer to decide! If we are going to surprise him I want to just put him in the car after dinner and say that we are going to go to the city! When he wakes up we will be at the jail (he loves police men and wants to be one if he can't be a marine biologist) and then I will find some sort of surprise way to tell him there when he wakes up! He won't see the luggage or anything as it will be in the trunk with his travel bag and such! So for this I am happy!

so much fun! I'm so excited for you that you will get an extra day of fun.

Epcot was not my sons favorite place, or my hubby's. They found it long and kind of boring going to the worlds. we spent 2 days there last time but would have been happy with one. MK we spent 2 days in and we could have easily spent more. It is overwhelming the first day you go and there is so much to see and do! (just my 2 cents worth!) :)
That being said my dd and I could hae spent a TON of more time in Epcot. We both love to travel and explore new places and she felt very rushed the day we spent there. I know that she would love to spend a couple of days just in the world's alone. :goodvibes

Sounds like you have a lot of good stuff going on! Love the soccer party you are planning. I used to plan like that... then I got.... i don't know... older, bored, busy, overwhelmed! :rotfl: Used to plan everything birthdays, Christmas, parties. Now I am a lot more casual about those things. works well for me but sometimes I miss all the hype of planning that kind of stuff. Now, I just plan WDW ALL the time!

Been little quiet...I hope all is okay with your mother! Any theme nights?

Yay for an extra day! Now you can start working for another day, lol!

Yep that's what I am trying to do!

I wanted to do that but with an object of some sort- maybe $10/country? Not sure yet! But I would like to do something! I am doing the passport book and the santas will be out so I am going to make the Santa passport book!

Thank you! But I can't take the credit! I took it from someone else who had also taken it from someone else! We have been so busy that we haven't been able to have one, but I need to get another one in, my DS keeps asking!

Ah the date change game! So far all is still set in my house. But it's early yet, who knows what will happen! :rotfl2:

Well it keeps changing for me because I am fining all of this information! Like I compared the dining plan to non dining plan (the deluxe) and it came out better that I have it- but someone told me to compare deluxe to regular and she was right- it ends up being lots cheaper and we don't need to sit down at 3 meals! I don't think that my son will even want to sit for one honestly!

Thank you for letting me know about Epcot- I am not sure how my DS is going to react to it, my husband is from another country and my son wants to travel there and see it. I've shown him pictures from where my family came from in the late 1800's and he has always wanted to go there as well- but I am going to play it by ear! If he doesn't want to stay I will pay for the park hopper and get into another park.

Sounds like you have a lot of good stuff going on! Love the soccer party you are planning. I can see where it gets overwhelming! :rotfl:I was almost going to cancel it these last few days so that I didn't have to finish cleaning up the yard (the previous owners left it a MESS!!!), but we got through it and it's almost done! I love planning and throwing parties and such! My son gets so happy and it makes me feel good! This last birthday I gave him a science party because he's a science nut (another reason why I think he'll like Epcot) and it was great! We did experiments, wore lab coats and goggles and I made a scientist cake out of a bear mold with the ears cut off! I enjoyed it and hired my younger BIL to take care of the experiments and help me serve all for the price of a movie and popcorn for him and his GF!

Been little quiet...I hope all is okay with your mother! Any theme nights?

Yes, thank you for asking! I have actually been busy in the yard. I finished the garden- most plants are planted inside and am finishing the leaves on the next nice day, today is raining so I am taking a break to catch up on everything! My mom is doing better! She's still in CCU in the hospital, but they did the "procedure" to put the pace maker in permanently and they are guessing that she can go home by the end of next week! Thank you so much for asking!

We have been so super busy, but as I did the yard work I have been planning the Disney trip and eating and thinking of what to do when and things like that!

These are my new dining plans- the rides and attractions plans are pretty much still the same, but I added a few more from helpful opinions of you guys- Thank you! So this is my plan, but I have a few questions! On the WS day we are going to try to do the WS of course if my son is bored and complaining we are going to cut it short and just ask for park hoppers to go to MK so with that being said- I am not sure if we should really make ADR's for WS. I am pretty sure that he's going to like it because he is interested in travel and new places! He's VERY proud that he's an "Aswhian" (I can't spell it it's a name my BIL calls him because he's asian and white)! So with that in mind I am not sure should we just eat around the world for lunch and dinner or should we QS lunch and do a sit down at Teppan Edo for dinner? And there are a few more questions in these reservations too!

Day we get there- we are going to eat at Whispering Canyon, I hear that they have good food and I want to take my son to the sing along after that!

WS day- I am really unsure about this, I don't know if we should do QS for lunch and dinner or do QS for lunch and TS for dinner- but we might not be too hungry for lunch because we are having a big breakfast at 1900 fare Park or Ohana's before getting to the WS.

AK day- We were going to do Tusker house but I want to do the EMH in the morning for all of the parks so on the days that they have EMH I am not going to do the character meals in the morning. So instead we are going to Harambe Fruit Market for a quick breakfast or grab a muffin or something from the hotel's cafe. For lunch I am thinking Yak and Yetti for K and Monk and flametree for me because they love chinese food and honestly I get a little tired of it! For dinner I am thinking Jiko since we are already there and the kids menu sounds yummy or Boma- but DH is not so much a fan of the buffets. After dinner we are going to tour DTD and Boardwalk if we have enough time so maybe we should wait to eat there but that's going to be kinda late right?

MK day- we are going to eat a breakfast at Main Street bakery and I want to eat lunch at cosmic rays but I am not sure if we will get there by then so I also like the sound of Pecos Bill and for dinner I think that I want to do Liberty tree or tony's for dinner! I am leaning more towards Liberty tree because I love the Thanksgiving feel and we don't get that at Thanksgiving!

EP FW- On this day we are going to have a quick breakfast at the hotel- like a muffin or oatmeal or something. For lunch I think that we will try the Sunshine season and for Dinner I am tossed between garden Grille or Coral reef- I like that we get to see the characters at garden Grille and the food sounds pretty good for both kids and adults, but my little one wants to be a marine biologist so the coral reef would be nice to sit and watch the sea animals while eating....

DHS- Breakfast at Starring rolls and lunch at Mama Melrose's for the fantasmic package- but is that worth it? I hear mixed reviews about that package and most of the time you get better seats waiting in line, but to wait in line for 2 hours? But it's either to eat there or at 50's Prime time cafe and wait in line for fantasmic. For dinner we are just going to eat QS so I am not sure where- any suggestions would be great!

Leaving Day- we were going to have breakfast at Poly and tour the hotels, but the pirate cruise for Damien would not be the right times for this. So we are going to put him on the cruise from the Caribbean Beach Resort, K and I will go back to the hotel to check out and finish putting things in the car and when he gets off we will tour some hotels, finish what we didn't see at DTD and call it an early night to get a jumpstart on driving- we would like to tour the NASA space center but I don't think that time allows for us to- they close at 6 (I am told it's not like disney closing where you can wonder a little longer, they really close) and even if we didn't tour the hotels and such the last day we would have to eat when he gets off the cruise and we probably wouldn't get to the space center until after 2:30 the earliest (and that's pushing it) so we figured we will have to make another trip (okay you caught me.... I figured we will have to make one after the extended fantasyland opens)! But for lunch I think that we will just eat a CS at one of the hotels- maybe stay for dinner at DTD?

We will be paying for 2-3 meals out of pocket plus when we eat at the hotel's breakfast but it's still cheaper than upgrading to the deluxe again!

And I know that this is so jumbled and nothing is really decided on.... but any hints/suggestions would be great I make ADR's in about a month:scared1: on June 6th!

I think your DS may surprise you, my kids love the WS! I would get him the passport (or you can make them) and have him do the kidcot stations, that will help him look forward to each country. We don't watch all of the movies in the different countries but we do try to catch the shows. I know he may not be too into the princesses but they are in the WS if he wanted to get their autographs. Thankfully my boys, even at the ages of 7 and 8 still like the princesses:lovestruc, I think their sister has something to do with that! On our second day at Epcot we are focusing mainly on WS and we are eating QS at the different countries for lunch and Teppan Edo for dinner.

I agree about not doing breakfasts on EMH days, that's the one reason I changed a Crystal Palace ADR on our trip, because they changed MK opening to 8am.Yak and Yeti QS is really good, it's my DH's favorite! For dinner I don't think you coul;d go wrong with either Jiko or Boma. The only place we eat at in DTD is Earl of Ssandwich so I can't recommend any TS down there. My DH and DS15 refuse to eat anywhere else down there so it's all we've done, but it's oh so good so I don't mind;)

Never tried Liberty Tree but :thumbsup2 to both Cosmic Rays and Pecos Bills!

I keep hearing really great things about teppan Edo so I think that I will keep that! I am going to make him the christmas passport book because I can't find one that you can but for Christmas....

I am thinking Jiko's and then just go to DTD after we are done eating for a walk to settle before we sleep!

Thank you very much! I really appreciate it!

finally got a chance to come over here from my ptr :) looking forward to reading more!

finally got a chance to come over here from my ptr :) looking forward to reading more!

Thank you! Sadly I have gotten addicted to this game on facebook lately and left everything away- I need to get off and make up the learning plans for my 6 YO and make sure that the ADR's I want are really what I want and so on! But thank you for coming over!

WS day- I am really unsure about this, I don't know if we should do QS for lunch and dinner or do QS for lunch and TS for dinner- but we might not be too hungry for lunch because we are having a big breakfast at 1900 fare Park or Ohana's before getting to the WS.

I don't think I would schedule a meal for WS day...I would make it a day of eating whatever you want in the different countries and little snack of whatever strikes you since you are having a big breakfast! If you go to the ALLEARS menus you can find menus of the little food stands throughout WS. I already have a list made of things I want to try in each country. The United Kindgom has a great fish and chips stand or Norway has great sandwiches if you are trying more a little more substance.

I know a whole extra day! I would like to spend it in Epcot because I love travel and want a whole day in the world showcase alone, but not sure DS would like that? He would probably want MK or AK but I'm not sure yet! maybe if we show him the kin possible stuff and the kidcots he'll want to stay!

My dd has always loved WS, but I think it is due to all there is to look at or shop for... oh, and eat. ;) I know my dh likes it...but gets a bit bored when I want to spend too much time in a shop. There are a couple rides so that can be something to look forward to and yes, the Kidcots... completing a mask was a highlight of the trip from my dd.

Sweeten it by adding a little treat at each country! I just read a blog about getting a piece of candy from each country. I will see if I can find the link. I like the idea of trying some type of food from each country...and for the big people a drink...that is in our plands.

On our last trip, we did this too. We made sure to get something to taste at each country. It was fun and didn't have to be expensive since we either used a qs credit or snack...or bought a tiny piece of something. I think the egg roll I paid oop for in China was only a couple dollars...and that was the most expensive item (non alcohol) that I paid for. Try the yummy candy in france! Even though there are yummy pastries and sandwiches and crepes and oh...lets not forget the adult drinks.... the candy is pretty yummy too and gets overlooked.

Day we get there- we are going to eat at Whispering Canyon, I hear that they have good food and I want to take my son to the sing along after that!
It is too bad we will not be there at that time or we would have to plan a dismeet! Since you will get there and be back before I leave for my trip you will have to take pictures and give a review. I am not sure if we are going to eat there or not... but also... I am a bit concerned that the activity level might be a bit much for my guys.

WS day- I am really unsure about this, I don't know if we should do QS for lunch and dinner or do QS for lunch and TS for dinner- but we might not be too hungry for lunch because we are having a big breakfast at 1900 fare Park or Ohana's before getting to the WS.

After having a big breakfast, I think eating around the world with snacks and sharing qs meals might be the way to go.

Can you do a character breakfast before the park opens for EMH? and be at the park that much earlier? I am not sure how these work. I just know I want to plan a meal before RD in each park. Yak and Yetti for Lunch is yummy...such big portions and flametree is good too. :thumbsup2 As far as Boma or Jiko.. I have never been so I have no words of wisdom. And going to DTD... and it being late. I am a bad parent and often keep my young one up late on Disney trips.

I have been to both Cosmic Rays and Pecos Bills... both have the great condiment bar. :thumbsup2 They get pretty packed though and so I have promised my dh that this trip we will not eat at either. This trip will be CHH for us. Liberty Tree is fun. We went when there was characters.... are there still? Tony's is a bit better food though. Probably one of the better "simple" steak offerings WDW has.

Sunshine Seasons has so many choices. I would look over the menu so that you have an idea of what each person will want. It also can be packed so having an idea of what each person is going to want will help navigate through it. We like the food at Coral Reef. My dd loves the lobster bisque.. I think it is her favorite food in all of WDW. We have never been to Garden Grill, but from what I can tell it is a bit more comfort food oriented.

We did the FDP last trip. Honestly, I wasn't terribly impressed with the seats...but this is what I was impressed by. First... you get to have an appetizer with your meal. It really makes for a nice long... sit down meal. We ate our "dinner" at 3pm and we were not really hungry the rest of the day. (course...we ate until like 5pm) Second... we got to show up to Fantasmic a bit later. Not having to wait to get "okay" seats was a plus. We never wait so long to get great seats (wouldn't that be like a couple hours early? :confused3) So letting us play a bit longer was a plus too. Now thinking about it though... I think we didnt play more just spent more time eating. :rotfl:

Lots to pack into your last day. I think skipping NASA probably is a good idea. We tried that in 08 and got there very close to closing. It was a waste for us. Plus...the excuse to go back.. :rotfl:

:thumbsup2
We will be paying for 2-3 meals out of pocket plus when we eat at the hotel's breakfast but it's still cheaper than upgrading to the deluxe again!

This is what I found too. It was just cheaper to have a few oop meals than to go deluxe. Also for us we would be eating qs meals and using ts credits. I am not sure that makes sense to do. Another thing... the breakfasts are cheaper...so paying oop for those is a better than using a ts credit :thumbsup2

And I know that this is so jumbled and nothing is really decided on.... but any hints/suggestions would be great I make ADR's in about a month:scared1: on June 6th!

a month... :cool1: I can't wait!!

Alright an extra day, ooooo the things I could do with an extra day. I am sure you will come up with a plan that your family will love.

Your mom is in my prayers.

I don't have time to read everyone's thoughts and suggestions right now- as a surprise my DH and son (whom have NEVER done anything special for mother's day for me) are taking me to a Thai restaurant AND a concert of Kansas? I am not sure who they are but DH gets tons of free tickets from work and well he's cheap so that's where we are going... it will be interesting! I had a movie night planned for princess and the frog but I guess that we will just have to do that tomorrow after the soccer game! But for anyone that I didn't get to on your PTR or TR I just want to say Happy Mother's Day:flower3:! I hope that you get lots of family time (if that's what you like, or alone time either one)! Even if you are just a mommy to a pet or an aunt you should still consider yourself very proud to be part in raising kids!

Any special attention on Mother's Day is well worth it...I can't even tell you who Kansas is! :rotfl2: I know I have heard of them, but I have no idea what they sing!

My Mother's Day usually entails me cooking for my MIL...(oh yes, DH does the grilling of the meat, but I have to do everything else and of course he thinks he does it all...just once I would LOVE to go out for dinner)!

Here is wishing you a magical time and a very Happy Mother's Day!

Yes I saw that on allears-it's a really great thing because Disney sight doesn't tell you really what they serve! But the menu's I mostly try to go by the children's because my son is not really a hamburger/hotdog/mac and cheese guy so that's why I also love allears! I've never had fish and chips so I may add that to one to try!

My dd has always loved WS, but I think it is due to all there is to look at or shop for... oh, and eat. ;) I know my dh likes it...but gets a bit bored when I want to spend too much time in a shop. There are a couple rides so that can be something to look forward to and yes, the Kidcots... completing a mask was a highlight of the trip from my dd.

ha ha we are the opposite- I hate how long K spends in the stores when he finds antique looking things or tools or clothes shopping for himself! I honestly got to the point that I just don't go in with him, or I go while he's shopping- maybe at Disney I can sneak in some rides!

The candy from each country sounds good for my DS and keep the wrappers to put in his passport book or something? Someone said that she went into each country with $10 and bought one thing from each one- in China I think that she bought a hand fan for $4 and they wrote her name in Chinese on it!

It is too bad we will not be there at that time or we would have to plan a dismeet! Since you will get there and be back before I leave for my trip you will have to take pictures and give a review. I am not sure if we are going to eat there or not... but also... I am a bit concerned that the activity level might be a bit much for my guys.
Well we will be back home on the 12th so I will have to take pictures! It would have been fun for a dismeet!

After having a big breakfast, I think eating around the world with snacks and sharing qs meals might be the way to go.

I am not sure- I keep hearing that the earliest seating is at 8:05 am and I am doing the EMH in the morning- so I am not sure if they would have an earlier time, when I call for reservations I will ask and find out though because if that's the case we will do some before park opening!

I am originally from TX and I'm not sure if you know what I am talking about but Fuddruckers has something that sounds similar to this and I miss that cheese at Fuddruckers!

MMMM... I love lobster bisque too! Garden grille I was thinking for Chip and Dale, but talking with K I remembered that's why we are going to the sing a long! Good idea with sunshine seasons I am going to print off the list and put it in that day of the trip journal so we figure it out before getting to the stand! Thank you for that tip!

We did the FDP last trip. Honestly, I wasn't terribly impressed with the seats...but this is what I was impressed by. First... you get to have an appetizer with your meal. I hear a lot about that with the FDP seats! If you don't get it do you really have to get in line about 2 hours early for "good" seats? Because that alone (like you said) would be worth the not-so-good seats?!?! A boy on our team just got back from Disney and he was complaining about DHS and it only has 2 rides? So my son says he doesn't want to go there.... but they have the 2 rides he wants most (TOT and TSM)

Lots to pack into your last day. I think skipping NASA probably is a good idea. We tried that in 08 and got there very close to closing. It was a waste for us. Plus...the excuse to go back.. :rotfl:
I think that I agree! I miht try to add the pirate cruise to the WS day though because WS doesn't open until 11am anyway and he's done by then and the hotel is walking distance from there!

Alright an extra day, ooooo the things I could do with an extra day. I am sure you will come up with a plan that your family will love.

Your mom is in my prayers.

Thank you Ty she is doing well now! I am trying to add the extra day into the plans and make it enjoyable fore everyone!

I have been so busy! We had the concert on Saturday night to see Kansas. These are some of the pictures that I took.... they don't look so great because I am learning how to use the camera!

Then on Sunday we had our game.....

My son thinks that he's David Beckham or something....
Picture080.jpg

Then I have no pictures for these, but we were supposed to have the movie night and it kept getting pushed back- tonight was the first night to eat at home since Thursday:scared1:! I mean I haven't had to cook which is great--- but I get so sick of it! My mother in law left for Idaho (to see my niece there) this morning so last night we took her and my father in law out to eat- we will see my father in law again on Sunay, but my mother in law is staying until August! I am about to post the pictures of the movie night in a minute!

The-Princess-and-the-Frog.jpg

I was very surprised that DH and DS were okay to watch it-- I did have to tell my son a few times that it has a lot of boys in it! More boys than girls:rotfl:! it wasn't anything big because I have been cleaning all day due to the fact that we have been coming home to shower and sleep and that's it the last few days! So my house was a disaster:headache:!!!!! So we had no craft or anything big!

We wore masks and I explained the G rated version of Mardi gras to my DS, he wanted to put on a parade like they do so we danced (just me and DS) around the yard in a line parade style!
Picture112.jpg

For dinner we had Jambalaya, white rice, and Gumbo (another Dis friend gave me the hint from Paula Dean's on food network), plus a sliced baguette on the side! The Gumbo was really yummy and I think I will have to add that to a family favorite- plus I liked that I had enough left to freeze for another meal later because it is a lot of work to make!
Picture113.jpg

Then we watched the movie and about 1/2 way through we ate dessert! I looked at about 4 stores for these gummy frogs I used to love as a kid but could not find them anywhere! So we settled with this-----
Picture114.jpg

A lily pad cupcake (I did buy these pre-made) with fireflies swarming around the cupcake and froggy ice cream!

All and all it was a really good night and I want to have one more at the end of the week so I hope that everything works out for that!
