OK, I had an annoying experience on the road today on the way to pick up my sister, so I figured I'd start a thread where drivers, including myself of course, can vent their bad and annoying driving experiences. Here's mine for the day.

I was on my way to pick my little sister up from theater camp, and I'm trying to make a left turn at an intersection with a light. I can't turn yet because of the people going the opposite direction. I am sitting there patiently waiting my turn, and the schmuck behind me trying to make my same left turn comes from behind, around my right, and cuts in front to me (and many others) so HE can make HIS left turn. I eventually pulled up next to him at the next intersection (we were in two different turning lanes) and all I have the guts to do is give the guy a dirty look. I should have given him the finger.

my pet peeve is "right on red". because when you've got a red light and I've got the green, I shouldn't have to slam on my brakes so you can make your right turn.

Ah that. Then of course there's the people who turn right on red when they're not supposed to, and that gets me mad, too.

I cheat death everyday because I take 3 main freeways everyday that I work. I bought a P.T. Cruiser and love it but I almost get run over every single day by people in SUV's. When I drive our full size truck I always check the lane before I change. Please look for us little 4 squirl cars LOL . Ok I feel better now....

Oh my, if I had a penny for every driving peeve I had...

I'll just list one...people who go super fast in the right lane on the freeway, not letting anyone in on the on ramp.

Sorry, Mad4Mickey.... :o

I hope I haven't been one of the SUV's trying to smush you. I try to keep an eye out for the "little" guys on the road.

(My pet peeve is the teeny little cars that zip in and out of crowded lanes, and then dash suddenly RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU from out of nowhere. No signals, no effort to let anyone know their intentions. Those are the little guys my big old SUV is likely to smash.)

how about the ones who dash out in front of you while you're doing 40 mph and then drop their speed to maybe 25 mph?

or on the highway, when the traffic bumper to bumper, the guy who thinks he can get to the front buy driving on the shoulder?

or when one lane closes for constructiuon, and everyone shifts over -- except one guy, who drives all the way to the end of the lane and then squeezes in at the last minute?

No one around here uses their turn signal and it drives me crazy. How hard is it to move that little lever, for crying out loud?

I can't stand people who won't move over a lane and let out people who are merging. Is it so hard to move over a lane?

I hate it when I'm the only person driving down the road and someone has to pull right out in front of me and then slow down. They couldn't wait two more seconds and have the whole road with no traffic?

Oh, yes, I'm filled with road rage. I curse at other drivers all the time while I'm driving (they can't hear me).

And I hate people who park catty corner and take up 2 parking spots. There used to be a site called "How to drive like a moron" where you could print out tickets to give to other drivers telling them that they were driving like a moron and what they did wrong. I never used them, but they also had tickets to print out about parking like a moron. I did print them out and would put them on cars that weren't parked properly.

How about those who are turning left on green (no arrow) and just turn in front of you while you are going straight? HELLO! It's left turn YIELD on green! If I am going straight, you are supposed to wait.

1) People who do not stop for school buses who have their lights flashing!

2) People who are reading, applying makeup or something else extremely distracting while driving.

3) People who drive slowly (read 40mph or slower) in the left lane of a major expressway when there isn't any traffic.

i hate people that cannot merge!!! this happened to me last night. driving along at 65 MPH and needed to get off the the freeway. really not that big of a problem. put on your signal and get over. SLOW DOWN and merge into the off ramp/on ramp with the cars trying to get on the highway. WHAT YOU DO NOT DO IS COME TO A DEAD STOP!!!!! i almost hit a guy last night because he stopped in front of me because there were cars getting onto the highway.

and i hate when people speed through neighbor hoods where children are playing.

Speeding thorugh school zones. I find myself slowing down in the school zone by DDs' school no matter what time of day or day of the week it is!

Once, I was driving through the school zone right as school let out, and was driving the limit. A gov't truck sped past me, then we both stopped at the next intersection. His truck had one of those "call 555-5555 to report my driving" signs on it. So I did. Got the truck number then called the phone number to tell them what I witnessed. Don't know if anything happened, but I felt better.

Ok, now is my chance to tell everyone about my annoying and wierd experience last week.

I'm getting off the highway and as always the exit ramp is jammed. There is a light at the end of the ramp and to my left are 2 lanes of traffic (that you can't immediately get to due to a patch of concrete). After the light you can TRY to merge left (and others can merge right). You go maybe 100 feet and there is another light. Then maybe another 100 feet and there is another traffic light at a VERY BUSY intersection. This traffic exit is about 2 miles from my home and it can take me 20 minutes to get home from there. During rush hour (anywhere form 4-7) it gets very bumper to bumper and you just have to wait and slowly make your way up.

Well last week behind me in a mini van was this older woman with a handicapped sticker. Traffic, as usual, is backed up. I'm slowly making my way up to the first light. And behind me she is honking and yelling. Like where am I supposed to go? The light ahead is red. Just ahead of the red light there is bumper to bumper traffic. Do you want to jump over the divider? As soon as the light turns green, I go and soon as she can, she jumps into the left lane and blows past me (the left lane has opened up a bit) and is yelling something out the window at me. I had no idea what the bug up her butt was, but gee...She needed a chill pill!

Around here people drive on the shoulder on the right at stop lights and when the light goes green they jump out in front of all the rest of the traffic.

What, you can't wait for the rest of us to go? In that much of a hurry> Sheesh!

I have 2 current driving vents:

People who use a right-turn only lane to go straight to try to get ahead of the people in the straight-and-left-turn lane. ARGH!

Merging lanes that are too close to exits. Folks merging expect me to move left, but if I do, I'd miss my exit which immediately follows.

How about a large intersection. A left turn lane, 1 or 2 straight thru lanes and a right turn lane, all with there own traffic lights. Left turn lane light turns green first for 30 to 40 seconds but cars continue to make left turns for another 10 to 15 seconds after that light has turned red and the straight thru lights have turned green. Also these types of intersections are usually no turn on red but that doesn't seem to stop anyone from making a right.

We have a few intersections like this in my area that the left turn light is last to turn green not first. When it returns to red the cross traffic straight thru turns green. I have seen hundreds of very near misses and several not misses. Was the 2 hour traffic jam these people caused worth the possible 2 minutes they would have saved if they made it thru the intersection?

The worst of these I saw a person in another car that was not trying to run the light was seriously injured when the illegally turning car pushed the legally crossing straight thru car across the road and right into the driver's door of the stopped car.

Oh man, and I hate the motorcyclists who zoom between the lanes and past everyone when there is bumper-to-bumper traffic on a major highway!

people who don't heed the flashing lights on school buses burn me too:mad: I had a driver pass me on the right whwn I stopped for a bus with it's lights flashing and it's stop sign out- there were kids getting off the bus who were trying to cross the street!!!

It really burns me when people use emergency equipment to move thru traffic! Fire trucks are coming, I pull over to the right and wait, then, the second they pass, some yahoo behind me has to gun it and try and get in front of me. :headache: Geesh.
