Drivers from NY/ NJ what's your schedule?

We are going Oct 9th, driving from SI NY. This summer we drove to HH SC and it took us over 14 hours to get there. We will be traveling with a 2 and 6 yo. I want to make a plan for where and when to stop over. DH was thiking about leaving at 4 am Saturday morning. If you can share your schedulkes I would appreciate it. We are planning on checking into our resort on Sunday. TIA

We drive from Central Jersey, about 45 minutes from SI. We leave around 3:30AM to make it around DC before morning rush, yes there can still be traffic during the weekends!! We have two one hour stops for breakfast and lunch (McDonald's playlands are GREAT for letting kids run off steam!) and arrived in Savannah, GA (our scheduled stop) at 6PM. There was significant traffic on 95, more so than when we have driven during the week. When we have left on a weekday, we've made it to Savannah around 4:30, so we did get held up by traffic quite a bit. From Savannah, it's about a 4 - 5 hour drive to WDW, so we left our hotel around 7AM and were at our hotel checking in at 11:30. Just figure out how much driving you want to do the first day, and figure out how many miles you can cover.
