Driver on Disney Bus Strangled by Tourist 10/12

I'm a fan of "Disney Theme Park Music" on FB and they posted this video this morning. Bus driver is ok, but it looked like a very unpleasant situation. They don't pay those drivers enough to put up with idiot tourists.

From the video it looks like a "girl" baby. That explains it. So much for peace and love.

Wow, that bus driver deserves a raise and a medal and a day off!

He kept his cool. I would have clocked the guy for putting his hands on me!

I am sure this is one of many episodes. I am glad someone taped it!

The guy seemed to think that since he had a baby, they were entitled to "priority" seating. Umm, that only exists if you are in a ECV. We have always had the nicest bus drivers. You know they put up with a lot of crap everyday.

Why was the bus driver placed on leave? I mean it's paid, so that probably means Disney knows he didn't do anything wrong, but still...
Also, what was that guy's problem! Why do some people think they can act like that (and also lie about why when there are SEVERAL witnesses)?

Quite the confrontation! The driver should be commended for keeping his cool but I wouldn't say he was strangled.

Post-traumatic stress? Counseling? I think it's great that his employer isn't expecting him to go RIGHT back to work after he was physically assaulted in the workplace!!!

I came across his relative in DC on a tour bus in May. He sat in the back and pushed his way to the front at each stop. He went too far and pushed my wife down into her seat. The next stop I got up in front of him. He got vocal and I told him to go back and hit his son like he did the last stop. The family never got back on. He was asked to leave by the driver.

I saw that video and I was scared! If I was on that bus I would be scared for my life if he strangled the driver!
He has to put up with angry people all day.. they need to make more

What a terrible incident. I am glad there are plenty of witnesses and even this video to show how very well the driver handled things.

I thought I could hear the other man who stood in the door talking to the fighting one say that the family was sitting on a bench while the others were in line. Did anyone else catch that?

I would guess the driver is on leave partly because of the stress of the situation, partly because from a legal standpoint Disney is better off to fully investigate (even though it seems cut and dry) before having him drive again and partly because this video will be seen by many a park guest in the next few days and Disney might like to protect this driver from the otherwise inevitable questions from nosy guests.

It doesn't surprise me that they let him take the leave. Mostly to let the guy get some quiet time, and so nothing is said further about the accident. If you notice most accidents and situations are responded to by Disney spokesperson. If it's something bad, the media will try to go to friends that are not legally bound to keep their mouth shut.

I think Disney bus drivers are great, but I really don't think they have to put up with that sort of thing often. Most people I've seen at Disney act fairly decent.
