Driver Gratuity

And our towncar trip will be short and inexpensive, so I had planned to tip more than 20% - now I may just give the "quoted 20%", lol. I'll just wait and see how service is and take it from there. But if one driver is much more helpful and friendly, I won't just divide the tip in half, I'll reward the driver who goes above and beyond. We don't live in a socialist country where everything is fair and split equally - hard work and going the extra mile should be taken into account -it's the American way!

Well, yes, you did get a great deal, so, I would go the way you proposed initially.

Again, it is added to restaurant bill for parties over a certain size.

I see where you are coming from, but, why punish the driver who works for the company that makes the rules? Most drivers do go out of their way to be helpful, but, like anything there are those nasty "bad apples".
 
They will take you to the MK an put you in a Small World and make it stop midway for 30 minutes with the audio going.

That's not punishment! I love "It's a Small World". :)
 
We just used Tiffany and the driver NEVER mentioned a minimum gratuity.

When we arrived at POFQ I gave him the coupon and he gave me the price of the transfer.

I gave him my credit card and he filled out the info, then I added the tip I felt appropriate and totaled and signed the credit card receipt.

When we went back to the airport from POFQ, we gave what we felt was an appropriate tip to the driver in cash.

The website is just reminding folks that the drivers would appreciate a tip and the industry standard is 20%

Then they should say industry standard instead of miniumum. Them telling me how much I have to tip I find to be kind of offensive and it makes me resent having to tip, and less likely to tip over that 20% even for a good driver.
