We are still trying to figure out what happened. The mods posted their reason as being innapriopriate sexual innuendos and pictures. But I hadn't seen any of that going on on the "Shameless. . ." thread. The other two threads were the one I posted called, "Isn't this agains the rules of the DIS" and the spinoff thread about the picniptag thread. Those are the three I know of, other than the Dan Murphy ones.

Just popping in to figure out what happened last night. So what was the straw that broke the, um, camel's back? Was it in fact, the camel? And what other threads were poofed besides the Dan Murphy ones? And other clique threads? I just gotta know. I'm a little bitter this morning. But I'm trying to cope!

hey arkansas mom I know what happened. But I'm not talking! Don't want to get this thread nuked too. We must NOT use the "c" word on the DIS board. There are posting guidelines which we must follow if this thread is to stay open. So please please for the love of all that is shameless drivel, do not mention that desert animal again.

Please don't feel bitter! Have a happy 4th! I'm gonna be grilling uncle Darian's (that would be me) famous ribs and brauts, tossing backs some brews then playing with explosives. Yeah baby, light them fireworks! It'll be midnight over Bagdad yes-sir-eeee!

I just had to say good morning and that the photo of your daughters is sooooo cute! You are one blessed momma! Have a great 4th!

Oh and on the forbidden topic, I'd say there was some concern that instead of making useful posts, we were using the thread as a chat room. Which I can understand the concern over that cuz of the extra load it puts on the servers.

Soon none of that will matter cuz I'll be enjoying some colorado coolaide (AKA Coors beer) brauts, ribs, tater salad and more beer. Then it will be time to light off the fireworks. We bought three huge bags full this year! Smokin' !!!!!!!

we may go down to the parade in the town I used to live in. They have a carnival and food booths. No fireworks there this year, but there are some in the next town over which are pretty good.

I don't know if he is gone or just in time out for a while..I was reading the "so we've offended" thread and Meshmar was really angry. But I think if he had been deleted from the boards altogether, wouldn't this thread he created disappear??
Or does it not work that way?
In any event, I'm so glad we're all still here!

I hope he is still around. I enjoy his wit and sense of humor. He seems like a great guy. Someone you'd like to have a beer with. I'm gonna go start my camel thread.

I am really upset, saddened, and hurt.

500 posts is a lot of work, but the friendships that were on that thread, the truly witty and funny things that people had posted, the friendships and jokes are all gone like they never existed.

And we can't even ask why or have an explanation about why something that I had nothing to do with last night, or whenever this happened, has to have a big impact on me too.

I don't see why the offending posts couldnt be removed instead of the entire 10,000+ thread.

So, I am gonna take a break. I am not sure I will be back to the community board, or when, but I do wish you all well.

I don't remember any offending posts on our thread. But I agree about just removing the offending posts and not the whole thread. When things got a little out of hand on another forum I go on, that's what they did. I am disappointed about the post count, too.
