Drive time from Marathon, Fl to Port of Miami

Was wondering if any one could tell me how much time it will be to drive from Marathon, FL to the Port of Miami including time for traffic? We need to be at the car rental next to the Port between 10-10:30. I know that the distance is about 116 miles and the "drive time" according to maps is a little over two hours but I am not sure what the traffic is like on a Friday morning. I understand traffic is horrible. TIA

Depends upon how many times you stop at the "wide spots in the road" ... that's what we did when driving through the Keys - lots of stops

I just looked at google maps and they say 2.5 hours (2.25 without traffic). I think that its a good estimate. Might take a little longer.

Do you "have" to be at the car rental place by 10:30 because of extra car rental or because of PAT? If it's because of your PAT I would leave Marathon around 8am and not worry about it (but leave by 9), if it is because of extra charges from the car rental place, i would leave at 7:30 (and you might be there an hour early)
