Drive or monorail from Poly to Epcot?

We will have a rental car but wondered if it would be easier and more of a cool Disney experience for young grandkids to take the monorail to Epcot? How much time should I allow from door to gate with both methods of transportation? Thanks!

I don't know how fast it would be, but I can't see the monorail being the slower option if you are walking to the TTC, unless the monorail breaks down for an extended period of time.

I love taking the monorail from the Polynesian! I would not drive. If you are staying in a room close to the TTC, you can just take the monorail from there. If not, allow time to ride around the lake and get off at the TTC.

You don't even have to walk to the TTC, resort monorail to it and it's like the kids have already gone on their first ride of the day. Make the transfer at TTC to the Epcot monorail and it's ride number two. May take a little longer than walking but hey, your on vacation, what's the rush.

The resort monorail can be a long ride - about 30 minutes round trip during busier seasons. If you walk at a moderate pace from the Grand Ceremonial House to the TTC it would be about 10 minutes. Then the ride to Epcot is about another 10 minutes. Driving from the Poly to Epcot would be able 10 minutes ( or so ) as well. Then you have to get from the lot to the front gate. All in all, it's going to be close to the same amount of time depending on time of year.

The kids in our family love the monorail - we'd take that hands down.

The monorail to Epcot is great! It goes through part of Future World before arriving at the stop. Very cool.

See I dislike the monorail and also dislike driving so I'd probably boat to MK and take a bus.

There's a key phrase in there somewhere...not sure where. As much excitement as driving would generate :rolleyes1 -- to say nothing of parking and probably walking in because the tram was so far away -- I'd certainly monorail.

Just remember if you take the TTC monorail to Epcot you will be bagged checked at the TTC to get on the monorail AND bag checked to get in to Epcot. If you drive, I presume that it will only be bag check at Epcot.

We would walk from Samoa to the TTC and then monorail it to Epcot, the journey was part of the process and enjoyment, however, going back multiple times gets really old doing the security lines twice each time!
