Thanks for your comments. I guess I should have been more specific. We plan on visiting Carlsbad CA, (for Lego Land) not Carlsbad NM, (for the caverns).
I have mapped out our route and figured out stops along the way. I was all set to drive but I keep second guessing.
We are planning to drive from Fort Worth to Amarillo after my husband gets off work at 5pm the first day. (6 hours) The second day will be the long day, (9 hours) driving from Amarillo to Williams AZ. We will stop in Albuquerque and spend an hour or two seeing the sights. We might ride the tramway to the top of Sandia Peak. The final day we will drive from Williams to Anaheim, (6 hours.) The trip on the way home will essentially be the reverse.
We drove to California when I had just finished 2nd grade. I remember driving and reading through most of it! Way back then, we didn't have DVD players, much less in the car, or handheld video game systems! Surely if I lived through it, my children can too right???
Or...we could just fly...
I think that coming home July 4th weekend is part of the problem with the flight costs and rental car costs.
Oh well, one way or another we will be at DLR on June 25th!!! Thanks to all for your help. I love the Disneyland boards, so helpful!
