We have a rental car for our 1st day only but are wanting to visit Disney Springs for a meal at the Boathouse. We are staying at Pop do you recommend driving our rental car over or is it easier to take the resort bus?
I've heard the buses are quite a walk but I would think the car parking is too. thanks for any input.

There is little difference between where the bus drops you at DS and where you would park if you drove. Go with whichever you think is more convenient.

We drove twice on our recent trip (from Coronado Springs Resort) and didn't have any issues with parking, but we purposely chose to visit on weekday nights instead of weekends, as previous visits at the weekends saw long queues for parking and huge crowds.

I would do whichever one is the most convenient for you. I've done both plenty of times and neither option is too much of a hassle. I will say that if everyone wants to have a drink at dinner, it would be better to take the bus rather than drive.

Bus. If you drive you have to deal with the parking lots (which frequently fill up and you can end up far away) and security. If you bus you just get dropped off- no security or wait of any kind.
We only park at Disney Springs if we are stopping there on our way out of town.

I guess I will be the counter opinion. I would drive if you feel comfortable. The WAIT for buses when you want to head back can be very lengthy. When I'm done at Springs, I want to GO...not wait at the bus stop for 30-45 minutes for a bus.

I would recommend taking the bus.. The parking garages can fill up quickly (especially during peak times) and traffic in that area can be heavy, also as mentioned by pp the walking distance from the garage to Boathouse is about the same from both the nearest garage and the bus station.
