I think I have alot of the planning complete and I have other things lined up for crisis days. I have NOt figured out our transportation yet. I know we are driving. There is no way my Aspergers son would get on a plane or train. My two girls will go with the flow thank goodness. We have about a 15hr drive urgh. There are good and bad to driving at night or during the day. I just don't know which one to do. HELP!! I have also thought of driving about 12hrs and then stopping for the night and finishing the next day. My husband is worried that we won't be able to get our son back in the car the next day. Anyone drive to Disney?

Do not underestimate the incentive of going to WDW for either riding in a car or airplane.

We drive straight through 15hrs with short breaks, We start in early evening so the kids can sleep for 6-8 hours of the trip.

We were very concerned the first time we flew with our Aspergers son, and did lots of preperation, videos and such but in the end with a disability preboard pass it went exceptionally well. There are even airlins now that set up "practice boarding days" for children with disabilities to practive before the actual flight. Being able to fly is an important life skill.

It's a 24 hour drive for us with a few short breaks we are from Rhode Island so we leave at 11PM so we can get past the worst of the AM traffic jams

It's 17 hours for us. Our favorite way is to leave crazy early (4am) so the kids can sleep the first few hours and get into Orlando close to dark.

We never again will drive straight through on the way home. Everyone is too tired and it's just too much.
