Remember those great drive in movies?? My mom and dad would get us all in our Dr. Dentons, with our tennis shoes over the feet :D and the stationwagon all filled up with lawn chairs, a cooler and sleeping bags. Wow that was a great way to spend a Sat night. I miss those, and I am really sad my DD won't know about them :( .

There are still a few of them around here. We try to make it to a couple each summer. :)

You might want to do a google search for your area or a place you might be traveling to might help you out :)

We have a good number in the Columbus area still. We haven't gone to one in ages since they seem to be on the other side of town, but maybe sometime soon I'll talk DH into going. I remember watching The Fox & the Hound at one when I was little... brings back great memories :)

Oh, I used to love to go to drive-in movies. When I was a kid, Mom would make popcorn, bring kool-aid or pop and we would all go. I'll never forget that I saw Psyco (sp) at a drive-in.

When it was just me and DS, I would take him to the drive-in. He would play at the playground they had until it got dark, and the two of us would get snacks and watch a movie (not scary) :Pinkbounc

We still have a great one not more than 20 minutes from my home. You can still put the kids in their jammies, take some take out, lawn chairs and see two movies for $15. The best part is they are first run movies usually a week after they are released!!!
Way cool!!

We still have one in Wellfleet here on the Cape.

There used to be one in Yarmouth, Dennis and Hyannis, but they all closed years ago.
I remember seeing Jaws as my first Drive-In movie. I had to fight to stay awake. They put the feature presentation on LATE!

I went to one once, waited in line for an hour. Muggy, hot, broken glass all around and tons of mosquitos. Give me my Regal Cinema with stadium seating, surround sound and a/c any day!

We went to the drive-in in Grandbury just a few weeks ago. It was clean and friendly but the sound was bad and it was hot! I had forgotten how it was and I can't wait to go again sometime! :teeth:

I miss them too. There used to be three around where I live, but they are all gone now. We used to load the kids in the back of the hatchback, seat down of course, blankets and pillows, snacks and drinks and got to see two movies for the price of one. I wonder why they closed down because they were always crowded? My mom used to bowl on Friday nights. We would go with her to the bowling alley and go out to the parking lot and watch the movies playing at the drive-in right next door. I'm pretty sure it was the first drive-in theater...in Camden. (This is going back thirty five years ago...wouldn't even go into Camden now! lol)

My first date was to a drive in movie. I really miss them. The last one I went to was Chevy Chase "Vacation", when my son was about six weeks old.

We have one by us and we go alot every summer. The kids love going to the Drive-In. :D

There's a drive in pretty close to where I live, but we haven't gone in forever.:(

We saw Lilo & Stitch at a drive-in up in Door County this summer! They have the sound come right out of your car radio and it works great.

I remember seeing Silver Streak, Coalminers Daughter, Star Wars (Ep 4), Superman 1, 2, & 3...and a few others..

I miss it.

My kids will never know!
