How far is the drive from Windsor Hills to the Magic Kingdom? Are there any short cuts?

Not sure if a short cut exists or if it's even needed. You'll only be about 5 or 6 miles from MK gates. We stayed there this past Oct. and we were at the parks in minutes.

If you want to be at rope drop in the morning then allow at least 45 minutes. It's only about 10 - 15 to the MK parking lot but it's the rest of the journey into to the turn stiles that takes the time.
Short cut to AK is the red line on the map below, just zoom in for a better look. You can get to the rest of the parks this way also but don't think it's much shorter than going in the World Dr. entrance on 192. ( less traffic maybe) DHS is closer on World Dr.

When you leave the parks and want to return using the Sherberth shortcut: just follow the signs to the Animal Kingdom area and as you get closer to the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Stay to the left as you near the AK entrance. You'll take a left at the lights, this will put you back on Sherberth Rd.

I used to take the shortcut, now we go 192 east to World Drive north when going to the MK, I think it's faster actually than the Sherberth Road route. I would only take Sherbeth now if we're going to Animal Kingdom, or there's a ton of traffic to get around on 192 or on the World Drive route.
