Can anyone give me a tip on the best way to get from All Star Sports to Boardwalk and Downtown Disney?

We'll have our own car, and was wondering if it's easier/quicker to get to those places driving ourselves or taking the bus. Is there sufficient parking (early evenings)?

Thanks for the help!

Dan

I would say take the bus to DD, but drive to the Boardwalk. There is a direct bus from the All-Stars to DD, so the trip is pretty easy by bus (plus, if you want to have a couple of drinks at Pleasure Island, no one has to worry about driving). But, to get to the Boardwalk and back is more difficult. If you are going when the parks are open, it's not quite as bad - you could take a bus to MGM and from there either take a boat or walk to the Boardwalk. But, if you are trying to get back to the All-Stars after the park has closed, you will have to take a bus from the Boardwalk to DD, and then a second bus from DD to All-Stars. Anytime you have to connect to another bus like that can be time consuming (it took us about an hour to get back to the All-Stars from the Boardwalk a couple of years ago).

Hope this helps.

The WDW bus from All-Star Resorts travels to Downtown Disney and back with three stops at MP, PI, and DD.

Most WDW buses usually travel from resort to another park, etc and from park to resort. So unless you were already at a park, taking a car would probably be better. Especially in the later evening when the EPCOT or MGM parks are closed. To get back to your resort from the Boardwalk, you would have to take to DD then to All-Star Resorts, which could take over an hour. WDW DD buses run until about 2:00 A.M. back and forth from the resorts.

Here a neat little Transportation link:

I hope that this helps, have a magical vacation.

Sorry, Shannon, yo must have posted at the same time as I did and I didn't see your post.

It did take me about 15 minutes to post this reply.

I've been getting the message about the DIS Server being to busy to post a lot.

Sincerely, RaySharpton :)

We were just at WDW a few weeks ago and stayed at ASMovies.
We took our rental car to Downtown Disney/Marketplace. It was a quick drive & felt it very convenient considering the amount of shopping we did there. I don't think we would have appreciated the bus with our 4 yr old DD, her stroller and all the packages we would have had to carry and hold.

Just wanted to mention:

If you take the bus & decide you don't want to take the bus back, you can grab a taxi at PI or Boardwalk. They can run into $, & it's better to stay w/official cab than a gypsy, but it at least gives you an option.

To get to BW you need to take a bus somewhere else first, like to MGM or DD and then get another transport to BW. Usual total time for that is 45 minutes to over an hour depending on how long you have to wait for a transport. Though DD is a direct bus you have 3 stops at DD and total trip can take 30 minutes to over an hour depending on when you go and how long you need to wait for a bus. The drive by car to either is about 10 minutes. Parking early evening will not be a real problem, you just may be toward the back of the lots somewhere.

Is Cirque Du Soliel in Downtown Disney? If so, does anyone know if there is a bus that goes directly to Downtown Disney from the CBR?
Thanks.

Yes there is a direct bus to Downtown Disney from CBR

The Downtown Disney bus makes 3 stops
1) Disney Marketplace (shopping)
2) Pleasure Island
3) West Side (closest to Cirque du Soleil)

Technically you can get off at any of the stops and walk to these places as they are all connected by pathways.

Hope this helps!
