Drinks for refillable mugs?

This may seem like a silly question, but what drinks can you get in your resort refillable mug? I assume soft drinks, but do they also have things like lemonade and iced tea? Coffee? Milk? We're staying at WL if that makes any difference. We're on the DDP for the first time in Sept. and now that we get a free mug (woo hoo) I need to know!

Only the QSDP and DxDP get a free mug with the plan this year. Next year the DDP will include the mug.

Each resort has some different sodas. You can also get Coffee, Tea, and Hot Chocolate. Pop has Iced Tea. I think there is Lemonaid and Powerade in the soda dispensers.

Most of them seem to have a sports drink of some kind, plus the above which as Squirrel says, may vary from one resort to the next. I also notice, since we tend to do long stays, that they occasionally change up the selection in the actual resort.

I have a photo of the drinks fountain at POFQ from last year, but it is on my laptop at home and I am at work right now. If I remember, unless someone else posts first, I can put a pic up for you tonight.

There is no milk or juice available from the fountains, just to clarify.

OP here- well duh- how did I think that we'd get the mug in Sept? Somehow it seems so far away, it must have seemed like 2012. Oh well, we're not soda drinkers anyway, so no big deal.

Are you going in 2012? I am guessing you are on the regular DDP. How long are you going for? We have gone without the DDP and actually paid for our mugs and they paid themselves off and started clocking up savings in a few days. If you are not really soda, tea, coffee or cocoa drinkers, then it is probably not worth it, but they make a great souvenir and if they announced to me today that we weren't getting them, I woudlnt' hesitate to buy them out of pocket as we do use ours - a lot.

Milk and juices are not available.

You won't get a mug with the regular dining plan if you are traveling in 2011. That doesn't start until 2012.

After a hot day at the parks I like to make my own lemonade at the soda station. There are lemons, water and sugar at the foodcourt...... 3 or 4 lemon wedges, a pack of sugar and some ice water and you got yoursef a nice refreshing lemonade.

Depending on how long you are saying and how you may be using your meal credits paying OOP for the mug may be worh it.We used ours for lemonade/ice tea when hanging out at the pool in the afternoon when we were on the regular DDP.Last year we didn't get the plan but still paid for the mug to use for drinks at breakfast plus at the pool.
We felt both times we got our moneys worth;)

It depends how long you are going for to decide whether it's worth paying OOP. We always go for 14 nights (don't we all from the UK!!) and the cost is well worth it. We tend to use for coffee at breakfast, then fill up with coke or something else cold for on the way to the parks (we leave the mugs in the car), then again for up to 3 cold drinks once back at the hotel in the afternoon, another cold drink when back fromparks or shopping in the evening, then cocoa before bedtime. The mugs pay for themselves in less than 2 days.......and you get tokeep the mug as a souvenir - we now use ours for camping in the UK.

I have been told there are free water stations at the CS restaurants in the parks - can you take your mugs into the parks and fill them with water or is that a no-no?

Yes you can - but these "free water stations" are generally referring to drink refill stations and they are limited - very few CS in the parks have them. And some guests worry that they will be challenged for filling up with water at these locations (I never have been).

AK - Restaurantosaurus
Epcot - Sunshine Seasons or Electric Umbrella
DHS - Backlot Express
MK doesn't have any CS with drink refill stations.

At any other CS in the parks you would need to wait in line and request a cup of water. They will not take your mug back into the food service area to fill it with water, so it is likely not worth hauling your mug around with you.

When we were at POR last summer, there was fruit punch as well as soda in the refillable soda machines in the food court. Our kids drank a lot of it, so I remember it well! That was a split stay with WL. We were actually disappointed to find no fruit punch at the WL soda machines. I guess POR was an anomaly!
