Quick question...

If you are not on a dining plan, do meals at counter service restaurants come with drinks, or are they separate? My wife and I are doing a "dining plan vs. no dining plan price analysis", so we are are trying to include every aspect.

Thanks:thumbsup2

drinks are separate, usually around $2.50 or more each for fountain. Bottled sodas and water around $3 each

As the PP said, drinks are not included at CS locations. Most everything is a la carte. Drinks range from a little over $2 (usually for things like basic coffee/tea) to $2.50-$3 (soda, varies by location and size). Some places might have more expensive drink options as well (like slushies), but those might not be included in the DDP (so you'd pay OOP no matter what).

The only meals that I can think of that include the drinks are the Kid's meals.

You can always ask for a cup of water - no charge for that.

:)

Thanks for the info.

I think we are going to skip the dining plan, and split meals. Even buying individual drinks each time, we will come out much cheaper. We had the dining plan the last three trips, and I remember being absolutely STUFFED and hating the thought of another bite of food by the end of each trip.

agree about the dining plan. My husband says he hates feeling obligated to eat something if he's not hungry. My thing is desserts, I rarely eat dessert and being made to order one at lunch and dinner is way too much. I also don't care for the lack of flexibility that the DDP has now. Sometimes my teens would rather have something from the appetizer menu than an entree. They also still get the kids meal at Sci Fi, which you can do paying OOP.

OP -- You might not know that, while the CS Menu Boards show food as a combo of entree and side, you don't have to order the combo. For example, if a group of four wanted 4 cheeseburgers, they could order 2 combos with fries, then 2 cheeseburgers a la carte. The four people could share the 2 fries and it would probably be plenty. Ordering a la carte would save at least $2 per meal. If a kid's meal is shown to include a toy, you can skip the toy and save $1.50. And, of course, ice water is free. Bring a drink powder to flavor your water.
