Drinking wine at the resort?

OK, I occasionally have a glass of wine in the evening and can anticipate wanting one some night while we are hanging out in the room. I know I could go to a bar (staying at Colorado Springs) but do they sell wine that I could take back to my room?

In particular, I am worried about a corkscrew. Should I pack one just in case? It is not a pressing thing that is going to kill me one way or the other, but I think I might like a glass. (Even if it is cheap - this trip is to celebrate mommy's graduation, so I should be able to have at least one drink or two, right???)

I don't know about Colorado Springs specifically. We have always stayed at Ft Wilderness but the general stores at FW sell wine... And corkscrews!

I can't answer the question about procuring the wine, but we always take a corkscrew in our CHECKED luggage when we go on vacation. There is nothing worse than a bottle of wine that you can't open and enjoy!!:sad2:

Yes, you can buy wine at most of the resort shops. You can also get a glass at the lounge, and just carry it back to your room.

Have you considered using wegoshop.com to deliver some wine (they deliver groceries and will deliver wine, too)? Or packing a box wine in your suitcase? (Okay, I'm not usually a box wine kind of girl, but in a pinch, I'd try it - and they seem to have upgraded the wines since I started drinking white zin from a box 15 years ago!)

Obviously, I've thought about this a lot!

At the AKL giftshop I believe they had little corkscrews for the people who bought wine. They didn't look fancy so I'm not sure if they were free or if the person had to pay for it. Other hotel gift shops should be the same. Worst case, the bartender at the hotel bar should have no problems opening it for you. Or the bar may also have the little ones to give you.

They sell wine in the gift shop. I watched a woman buy it and the lady ringing her in had one behind the counter when I was at CSR in November.

We have called housekeeping for wine glasses and a cork screw.

We always buy wine at the grocery store when we are down there.

Don't forget that wine is sold in the grocery stores for a quarter of the price that you will pay if you buy from the resort....pack a corkscrew in your suit case. COngrats on your graduation.
