Drinking while walking/in lines - to clarify, not to argue

Lots of Disney do's/don'ts are not printed out online ... it would be a tedious list.

Since it is attraction specific you find that information at the attractions and attraction CMs always have the final word. For years CMs have stopped guests from entering line until they are done eating and drinking, directing them to trashcan. Obviously they let a water bottle or closed mug/cup to be carried but not to be opened since there is no drinking in line.

With the added complication of masks & drinking/eating - there are signs everywhere now on the trashcans before you enter the official line.

Thank you for the reply. I’m still confused about your original reply though.

No one is arguing that there are certain points in the queue beyond which you cannot have food or drinks. The question is for the new outside portion of the queue are you allowed to drink if standing still socially distanced?

We drank water on line while outside - as others mentioned - slipped mask down, sip, put mask right back up. No one gave us a hard time about that. It was super hot (unseasonably so) when we were there - water was needed!

The OP wasn't clear if they were talking about outside lines that are part of the traditional queue or the extension lines outside that happen at rides like Slinky & Flight of Passage on normal days, and now at many attractions due to social distancing. Then subsequent posters stated they ate and drank inside the official lines where it has not been allowed as long as I remember.

I was saying there are really two questions, for two areas of waiting now. The official queue, whether inside or outside, has always been no food or drink. This is the line past the FP+/Standby entry point where the signs are. Now that they have this extended line I'm thinking it will be okay .... as long as you can distance and be respectful of your line mates OR whatever the on the ground CMs may direct. The current rule is harder to apply here.

Personally if a line is long and not moving I tend to avoid drinking if possible 'cause we don't want to have any issues waiting until after to "go". :) We use the cooling towels to keep us comfortable.

That is interesting. And presumably they weren't drinking the beer in the cups with straws? Although that would be a sight. ;) I was just thinking that if you had a straw you could tuck it under your mask so there would be no need to remove it for your beverage of choice.
There are no straws allowed at Animal Kingdom.

To add a bit of humor- don’t take an open cup on tower of terror. We were once on the first run of the day and somehow a lady sitting behind us brought a cup of sprite on the ride with her and we all were covered in it once the elevator dropped - we told the employee as we left and they had to briefly take it out of service for cleaning. (This was precovid)

Sure it wasn't funny at the time, but this made me laugh!! :)

I am hoping to fully avoid ToT, as I am a giant baby, but if one of my children forces me onto it I promise no drinks. :)
