Drinking around the world?

I didn't see anyone mention the Margarita Stand at Downtown Disney. That is my wife and my favorite. They have a signature margarita with Don Julio, which is very good, but for like 2bucks less you can get it with Patron. They make them right on the rocks with a little splash of OJ. My wife usually only drinks one and gets glassy eyed. After my second one I start getting emotional and buy the kids whatever they want at the World of Disney.:rotfl:Also the bar at 50s diner is pretty good also. It is a good bar and you can get the kids started off right as they serve Shirley Temples in straw cups with blinking ice cubes. Here it is, almost Quittin time on Friday and I think I'm gettin a little Thirsty.:cool1:

Lets see if I can remember:

This past September we did:

Mexico: We tried the new tequila bar inside . . .EXCELLENT!! I had a really unique margarita and DH did the tequila flight.

Norway: We skipped it and instead had a snack of school bread because we were starving and the tequila had already gone to our heads.

Germany: Both had large beers

China: Peach snapps slushie . . very delish

Japan: Saki

Morocco: It was dinner and we just tried two of the fancy mixed drinks on the menu while we ate at Marrakesh.

Italy: Italian margarita . .also very delish

France: Grey goose slushie, again, highly recommend

USA: we are ashasmed to say we skipped it as well . . but what would we have gotten? a Bud Light? LOL

England: More beer

Canada: More beer

It was a ton of fun. I want to do it again when we go and it is less warm. It was SOOO hot that day that halfway through we lost steam and were sharing drinks and not really enjoying them. . . .but I recommend you start with Mexico.

for those interested in doing beers around the world or drinks around the world, I made a check list for those who are so ambitious ;)

I love this!

I love how the only choice in USA is Daquiri! lol

What about a Long Island Iced Tea? Hurricane? Lynchburg Lemonade? Cosmopolitan? Texas Tea? Oh wait that's petroleum....stratch the last one....lol

Come one USA, you can do better than a Daquiri, I don't think that is even a real USA drink. I mean did the USA even invent the Daquiri?

OK looked it up, the Daquiri was invented in Cuba, by an American. Soooo it's a quazi American drink. Still USA you can do better.

I showed my DH this post, he was really excited about it so he had me print both up and then suggest that we lamenate them so we can take them on our trip in December. He also wants to bring along a dry erase marker so he can keep this for future trips as well :rotfl:.....after reading back what I just wrote, it really makes us look like lushes :rotfl2:

See and I'm thinking that's a grand idea. Of course I also include spots for "beverages" and even specific drinks on my must do's on my binder pages....

Would someone be so kind as to explain what the Welsh Dragon tastes like....or comparable too? It looks yummy!

IMO...America needs to add the Bushwacker to it's puny drink arsenal. We have weekend festivals dedicated to this wonderful chocolate beverage! Google the Pensacola Bushwacker...it's divine!:worship:

For those who like the Welsh dragon, is it strong? It looks yummy, but it also looks huge!

Not strong at all...very smooth and tasty. I am not a huge fan of mixed drinks (prefer wine or a cold Bass Ale) but I loved this. I also love the Sultans Colada from Morrocco and the Ohana Colada:cloud9: at the Poly.

The Welsh dragon is sort of melony sweet (but not too sweet) with a slight minty background kick. It is very smooth and refreshing. Normally I love a cold Bass Ale from Rose and Crown when we walk around the Showcase.. but it was 120 degrees this past June and I was pretty sure my beer wouldn't stay cold very long.:sad2: so we tried the Welsh Dragon...It was great! Very smooth and refreshing and I love my Rose and Crown cup! :)

from a PP:Welsh Dragon: Peach schnapps, Melon liqueur, créme de Menthe, Orange Juice, and Pineapple Juice -

Definately can tast the melon, little sweet from the juices (not too much) with a bit of mint at the end.

Thanks so much for your description! I'm going to try it in December!!

Sounds Great i'll be trying one in April:wizard:

I met up with solo DISers in May and we did DATW combined with the Kim Possible Tour - good times, good times :lmao:

We also did a Monorail crawl where we took over the bar in the Grand Floridian. When the waitress came out and saw us sitting there, I swear she wanted to run for cover (and rightfully so!) :rotfl2:

My favorite drink at EPCOT is the Leesburg Lemonade in Germany :drinking1 - very good!

The Maytag Martini at Blue Zoo. (Level Vodka and 3 Maytag blue cheese stuffed olives)

An Irish Car Bomb at the Rose and Crown. (A pint of Guinness with a shot of Jameson’s floated on top of Bailey’s Irish Cream in a shot glass, and the shot glass is then dropped into the stout. Once mixed, the drink must be consumed quickly because it will curdle.)

The Lapu Lapu at the Polynesian - Rum drink served in a real pineapple. Overpriced, but it is good.

The Blue Glowtini also at the Polynesian - Citrus Vodka, Blue Curacao Peach Schnapps, sour mix and pineapple juice. It also comes with a Blue Glow Cube.

The 1 liter dark beer at Biergarten in Germany.

A Don Julio Anjeo Margarita in Mexico. - I hate the food here, but that margaritas are good. I look forward to the new Margarita bar so I do not have to eat in Mexico.

Free Sam Adams samples at the History of beer in Epcot. - MMM Free Beer during the F&W festival.

RE the Irish Car Bomb - apparantly my mom and DS are now experts, we dont have BAilly's we use Carollin's, which DS claims doesnt curdle - however the cheap stuff my mom buys will curdle, unless you heat it up in the microwave :confused3

I am one that will not mix whiskey in a beer (That's a boilermaker) so I couldnt tell you -

but it was bloody hilarious the day after when my brother had a hangover with no knowledge of what got him there - when shown the pictures he nearly fainted - he never drinks beer!! :rotfl2: But when DIL beat the guys in the Irish Car Bomb - off - he had to try to best her :rotfl2:

So really - Beware of the Irish Car Bombs ;)

Free Sam Adams is at the F&W festival, but they give such small drops - its not even a total of 6 unces!! We go for the bottle opener!

(I cant find my picture of the beer!)

Notice how I dont have a pic of the drink, but the ingredient list? :rotfl:
