Drinking Around the World.

I did this when I did the college program. We had a blast. Thank god I was the most sober one (someone had to get us home :lmao: ). I can't wait to introduce my husband to this great tradition. I'm hoping that I'll finally get him to fall in love with Disney. :rotfl:

We used to do this too on the career start program...never made it all the way around though. We always got stuck in the UK

Drinking around the world...now this sounds like a good time. I was already planning on making a couple trips to Rose and Crown for some beer, and now I have an excuse to drink everywhere(not that I really need an excuse ;) )

Has anyone seen people doing the "Disney crawl" after drinking around the world? lol

Well.. sort of! My then BF (now DH) and I were in WDW with another couple and we had to ask the WDW bus driver to pull over so my friends BF could barf! At least he made if off the bus! Thanks Pleasure Island!

Has anyone tried drinking around the world during the food and wine festival?? :drinking1 :faint:
Much more places to stop as they have the in-between stands

Ok, so here is the list so far....Anything in bold seems to be the favorites...

Canada: (no one posted anything for this country)

UK: Black & Tan, Strongbow Cider

France: Wine sampling, Grey Goose & GM slushie

Morocco: ??

Japan: Plum wine

USA: ??

Italy: Rosa Regale, wine tasting

Germany: Be there at the hour for happy hour, wine tasting

China: Peach Schnapps Oolong tea slushie

Norway: Viking coffee

Mexico: Margherita

For all the empty spaces, can anyone fill those??

Going the end of this month for drinking around the world. However, DH and I are beer drinkers - do you know if each country has their 'local' brew? Hope so since this is how I sold DH on the Epcot trip!

From the stands I have seen (and drank from):

Mexico - Dos Equis & Corona
Canada - Labatt's & Moosehead
England - Bass & Guinness
Norway - Carlsberg
Germany - Beck's
USA - Sam Adams and Bud

That's all I have done, but all the countries have their own local brews. Bring your wallet - looking at $6-7/pop. This year I will get all 11 during my stay - maybe in one day???? Yikes!!!

I hate to say this but I gotta, the drinks when drinking arround the world are not as good as going to that country and actually drinking them. I have been to every country in epcot, and plastard at that. However I am most fond of drinking a Japanese Beer called Asahi Extra Dry, I can't say I am fond of the UK(scottish) Liquers but they do have a juice there called Iron Brue and they mix it with a vodka and a liqure and its wicked mean. Canada, bah nuff said, drink jack and coke. If your going to Mexico and you want margi's well tell them to use patrone. If they ain't got patrone, it ain't the best. Although, Corona Light beer is nice. In Italy, I had a really tastey wine that was "coupled" with my meal, it was very nice. France, I just went to the club drank whatever i thought i wanted, and partied at the clubs(in the real paris) To bad they don't have Holland there. Let me tell you what, gettin' a few drinks in amsterdam is absolutly nutty. I hit up this thing they do called the Pub Crawl, they give you a shot of vodka when you enter any club. you go to up to 10 clubs, you get one free drink at each club. and the clubs are packed cuz all the locals know where to go and when for the crazy vacationers. There was this one person who turned me onto Malibu and Pinapple, with a splash of cranberry mostly for color. Sounds more hawaiian to me, but hey its amsterdam. I could go on about drinken round the world. Ever get to belgium. Make sure you drink close to home, me and my dad were there and we forgot where we ate dinner thatnight and how we got back home because we were so jacked off the belgium beer. And we were only two blocks away from the flat we rented.

After a night of drinking around the world (margarita's in Mexico, beers at Germany and Canada, wine in France) my girlfriend and I headed to the Crew's Cup Lounge at the Yacht Club. While heading back to the Old Key West, she left her mark on the floor of the bus. Great time was had!!!

This makes me so excited! I am also curious about Drinking Around the World during the Food and Wine Festival?

I am already making my drinking plans! I am so happy they have Strongbow, I miss that cider it is much tougher to find then it used to be, now I can only find Blackthorn. That with a bit of Bass and I am a very happy camper!!!

I also learned how mixing drinks and rides at Disney parks can lead to trouble. At Bat's Day a few years back we were foolish to hit the DCA bar and then ride the roller coaster TWICE some of the guys looked a little green :sad2:

Shows and drinking equal :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

Has anyone seen people doing the "Disney crawl" after drinking around the world? lol

Last year when we were there we saw a group that was having a grand ole' time. They were coming counter clockwise around the lagoon, but already had their viking hats (in a bit of a state of disarray) so obviously had done the loop once & were on the return trip.

They were having a great time that night - but something tells me they were not up in time for the early extra magic hours the next day.
:)

DW and I purchased DVC at BWV because of proximity to EPCOT.

Our first stop on day of arrival is the UK for the traditional pint of Bass. On to Mexico for a margarita, a stop in Italy for an Italian margarita, followed by pina colada in Morrocco, or the Greygoose slushie in France. New favorite beers are Spaten in Germany(wish Norway would bring back Ringnes), and a Black and Tan in the Rose and Crown(20% DDE discount).

On cool nights, DW has the Viking coffee, and I've tried the Morrocco Casablanca Coffee(made with galiano), which you can purchase where the bakery is sold. There are two other coffee drinks offered as well.

Latest tradition is to purchase a Tokyo Sunset to-go, in the Matsunoma lounge, just prior to Illuminations.

97 days until we arrive for F&W festival, and we can Drink to the Beat!!

I've set my sights on planning a drinking stategy for our upcoming October trip...Here's a drinking report from our trip to UO last week:

Monday
- red wine on the flight to MCO
- bottle of Panther Creek pinot noir at Emeril's
- margaritas from Jimmy's take-out window at CityWalk

Tuesday
- draft beer from US cart after Earthquake
- chianti at Sal's Market Deli in PBH
- more margaritas at CityWalk
- half of the Lowe's First complementary bottle of red wine in our PBH room

Wednesday
- the other half of the Lowe's First comp bottle (hey, we had a late check out, so it was after 12PM!)
- more chianti at Sal's Market Deli

Rosa Regale in Italy. It's a sparkling red wine, very good.

Third!!! yummy yummy yummy!!

Also a margarita in Mexico, Sake in Japan, Beer in germany, basically go to the coutnry and ask for their signature drink or beer/wine!! you can't go wrong! Good luck making it out of the park!!! I did this during food and wine so there was more than the usual counrtys to drink at!

Alas, our plans to drink "around the world" at the FW festival did not come to pass. We went overboard at CityWalk the night before and were hurting at Epcot the entire next day...we did not have a single drop of alcohol at World Showcase. From what I remember we did have plenty of fun the night before at Hard Rock Cafe, Margaritaville and Pat O'Briens.

Heh, heh, lushies. I resemble that remark. :rolleyes1

what does the China slushie taste like? peach or tea?
and why no drink in Morocco? is there one ppl recommend?

At the coffee stand in Morocco I highly recommend the Morocco-rita while dh said the "Sultan's Colada" was one of the best Pina Coladas he'd ever had (though the heat may have had something to do with that, LOL). They were cheaper than the margaritas in Mexico (<$6 each vs. >$8 each) and bigger than the grey goose/grand marnier slushies in France. Plus they were custom made, while the Mexico/France versions were all premixed.

Looking forward to trying the China tea slushies next trip!
