DD and her BF are excited that this year they are 21 and get to try drinks around the world. So I was wondering do the drink stands stay open past 9:00 or do they close when the park does? How about on EMH nights do they stay open longer? If you would like to suggest some must-dos that would be great since DH has only had the annual beer from Germany and myself a margarita from Mexico. :confused3

They close when the park closes.

I know the Rose & Crown Pub stays open for evening EMH, but La Cava del Tequila does not. As for the kiosks, I can't say which, if any, of them are open during EMH.

Suggest to them if they are going to do the pub crawl, to start in Mexico and work their way over to Canada. Although they probably won't make it...LOL

Me and my boyfriend plan on doing this when we go! Lol, we'll have to ditch my parents and my 17 yr old brother. But I'm sure they won't mind. No point in trying to give my brother alcohol!! haha

The wife and I do it every time we are there. We start outside the bathrooms nearest Test Track and get a Yuengling draft and then by the time they are gone, we're in Canada..I go for a Labatt's, and she does a Torontopolitan.

From there on out we stop where we need to once the glasses are empty. She always makes sure she gets a slushie type deal from France, and we always stop and stay for two at the American Pavillion...seasonal Sam Adams drafts work well. I know some people are big fans of the margaritas, but I have had bad luck with them.

If you are into wine, I've never had a bad glass in Epcot.

My final suggestion...time it so you can hit Spaceship Earth once you've "gone around the world." The ride is sooooooo much better at that point.

My wife and I did this last year. Funniest day ever!!!! Don't do too much beer though, it makes you feel bloated. Do more wine and cocktails. Wine tasting in Germany was excellent and the Mexican cocktails are so so good.... Very jealous of you!

Also, if you're gonna make a scrap book you can get some brilliant photos as you drink around the world. The wife and I always get photos with hats on from the shops in each country. Never laughed so much...

That's funny! We also do the hat photo thing. My wife also got a pic of me this past January wearing beer glass glasses in one of the English shops. Very stylish... :rotfl2:

My friend and I did this, so fun.
She did not make it around the world. She threw up in america :rotfl: we blamed it on the jet lag lol
Start early, so you can enjoy your drinks, and enjoy world showcase! Since the restaurants generally close when world showcase closes, and don't run into EMH, we started at around 4/5ish, and were able to complete it no problem, even if it involved dragging my friend halfway through the world haha

We started drinks in Mexico, at la cava del tequila (awesome!! They have alot of choices)
Skipped norway for drinks, just did the maelstrom
China, we went to the Joy of tea stand and had canto-loopys (also really good)
We skipped germany only because I didn't want to mix beer in with all the liquor we were consuming.
Had bellinis in italy, not a good decision. They were not worth it. It became warm immediately. Threw up in America :rotfl2:, and walked through Japan
I continued the drink-fest in Morocco with a Sultan's Colada at the pastries kiosk. Had a grey goose slushie is France, and finished with the favorite drink of the evening, with a Welsh Dragon at the Rose and Crown Pub, where we got to see the hat lady perform lol.
We had plans to go to canada and have Torontopolitans, and see illuminations, but because my friend felt so lousy, we skipped all that and headed home. I stumbled back, but its still a good time!!

good luck!

dh and I LOVE drinking around the world! :thumbsup2

We sometimes share a drink to make sure that we can make it all the way around without being toally sloshed!

the last 2 times I started in Canada...Heavy beer is definetely not the way to start. with a labatts which isnt too bad, but followed by a tall black n tan....Man does this really start the weigh down process. I've gotten as far as Germany. I know call me a wuss, but thats all I could do....Next time I try from Mexico 1st.

This is good info! My best friend works at Epcot and wants us to drink around the world when I go in May, so was a little nervous about doing this.

In November my DBF and I are going to try this (well I may take two days to complete but he's determined to do it in one)...

I had the idea of start early and for me at least do one lap around before getting another drink... I see it as a marathon, not a sprint. I am also contemplating skipping Canada and France since 2 days later we'll be back in Epcot and the plan is to have lunch at Le Cellier and dinner at Bistro de Paris so will get drinks there.

However out first Epcot day is the last Friday of Food and Wine so not sure how that's going to factor in yet.

I've done the complete circuit twice, paired with shirts that say "Drink Around the World (insert year). If you find me in the lake, please point me to the Wilderness Lodge bus".

My suggestion, start when WS opens, start in Mexico and EAT as well as drink, even if it's just a little snack in every other land. Also make them the majority of them savory, not all sweets.

Here is the secret to our success, pop a vitamin B-100 at the beginning and the end. This will eliminate or cut your morning after issues considerably. The only side effect from the Vit B is your pee will be BRIGHT yellow so don't freak out, that's normal.

Also alternate your booze with a full glass of water between each round.

DH and I will be doing this in May, I've already selected some drinks I want to try :)

You sound like a professional like myself! :lmao::rotfl: I was hoping you had a picture of the shirts. Was the wording all on the front, or was some on the back? My sister and I are going and I would love to surprise her with something like that....we may like a couple(or 20) drinks when at Epcot. :rolleyes1

Yay for a fellow pro! The last time we did this, it was raining. We refused to buy the plastic poncos that make you look like so much produce. Our battle cry was "Ponchos are for the weak and sober!"

The Drink Around The World was on the front, curved over the Mouse Head silhouette, with the rest on the back. One of our group suggested putting the phone numbers of our Next of Kin on the bottom of our shoes in permanent marker but that was vetoed as too much work.

This year the shirts have Animal Kingdom Lodge replacing Wilderness Lodge and I trimmed mine in leopard print. 16 more days until I leave! :woohoo:

LOVE IT!!! One thing is for sure, if you do it right, you will not be sober by the end of the adventure! :dance3:

I have never been a mean or obnoxious drunk......as far as I know in my own mind. :rotfl2:

I will agree though that you need to drink water and pace yourself. That is the key to success. I love the vitamin B-100 idea. I will need to remember to pack that, as we have many early mornings.

Have a blast!!!!
