Can someone tell me about drinking around the world. I think I saw a card or something you can carry with you to each country to check off each drink you have tried. Im looking for that.

On average how much does it cost. I think I saw somewhere that they have sample sizes at each country ???? I couldnt drink a full glass , at each country, lol.

Thanks for all your help. I have my uncle and aunts, cousins going and we want to try this.

I love this and we always stay in an Epcot resort to make it easier spending time at Epcot.

Not sure about the card you mention, but I've seen kids passports, not really for adults though. There are a few independent drinking around the world websites that sell passports and other stuff. We just take a photo of every drink though and keep every receipt. Love sitting in each country with a drink just soaking up the atmosphere!

One bit of advice... The beer gets pretty heavy, whereas the cocktails are much easier to drink. My wife and I also usually share drinks. We don't wanna be falling over so one drink is enough to share... I haven't seen sample sizes other than at the F&W festival.

They sell "passports" at the stores in the Countries as well as the two stores by the boat docks on the Future World side (can't think of their exact names).

When i drank around the world, I had the Cast member from the Countries that served me write something in the book in their language and included the drink I had also.

Google "drinking around the world" and several sites will pop up. One in particular sells a passport that you can get signed by a CM in each country. It comes with a lanyard, so you can wear it.

It's a fun memento. We used it for a 21st birthday celebration, and even in a whole week we didn't come close to getting it filled. There's no way we would even attempt to drink around the world in one day. We're lightweights! :)

I think the OP may be talking about the wine flights that you can buy in France and Italy. They give you a little card because I think the "flight" is like 6 glasses of wine or something. My wife got it last time. I don't drink so I didn't really pay attention to the details.

also they have this passport for the food and wine festival. It has all of the countries and booths in it along with the drinks served there. you can get it stamped by the ppl working there. Maybe the OP is confusing this with the other things that are availble all year

I thought about doing that. and then I thought about how much it would cost. That thought was very sobering.

Pun intended.

Take it from someone with experience, do NOT attempt this duringg F&W. Eleven countries are much easier than 40+

If I were drinking around the world in one day, I would budget between $200 and $250. Each "signature" drink in each country will run you $9-$11, but I would not attempt to just drink. I would get a snack (preferably not just a sugary one), and drink some water as well. Maybe snack every other country, but water after every drink definitely.

Party Through the Parks has a game. Here are the rules and scoring.

Definately share drinks if you are going to attempt this. I don't know of many places that have sample sizes.

BTW: Beware of the Lucky Ducks in Love at the Joy of Tea stand in China. Very tasty but the girls working the stand went a little crazy with the bourbon. The fumes when I took the lid off to stir it were enough to knock me out!:thumbsup2

Just my 2 cents, and I am not referring to the folks who are enjoying a drink or two while touring the parks...

I love to enjoy a cocktail(s), but for the life of me, why would anyone pay park admission, and then pay for overpriced drinks while "drinking around the world"? Why not just find a bar outside of the parks, and get liquored up until last call?

Because everything that is worth doing is even better at WDW.

Gotta admit, I saw this thread's title and immediately thought "I'd be more than happy to help you drink around the world!"

For the same reasons that you can get chased by a bull at home by yourself, but if you do it in Pamplona with a few hundred other people, you've got a memory. & for also the same reason that The Bandit, Snowman & Fred drove all the way to Texarkana, Texas for 400 cases of Coors only to be chased all of the way back by a Smoky... Because they were doing what was said could not be done.

Thanks, now I'm singing the theme from Smokey and the Bandit.

To answer the question of "why", I'll pose one in return: Why not? Disney World has a wealth of drinks that while you could like re-create elsewhere, even at home, it's just more fun to drink them there.

Thanks for this...it sounds like a lot of fun...going to give it a try next month!!

Because it's the experience, not the buzz.

Where else can you drink a Guinness in a "British pub", then champagne in "Paris", then sake in "Japan", then a beer in a "German beerhall", then a margarita in a "Mexican village", all in one evening?

Or, to reframe your question, why would anyone pay park admission and then pay for overpriced souvenirs when you can buy the same crap at the Disney Store website & have it delivered to your home? Because it's MORE FUN that way.

It took 12 posts, but better late then never. Why do these people even enter threads like this other than just to troll????

This is always one of our favorite evenings when we visit WDW and we usually allow about 5 hours. We really take our time and unless we have a seperate dinner reservation, this is really the only time we spend in the world showcase, so we do it all while enjoying our favorite cocktails....rides, shows, shopping, mango gingeritas, pick a pearl, plum wine, turkey legs, samual adams, fish n chipps with a black n tan, viking's crown with a tall draft beer etc. 5 hours to do half a park isn't all that bad.

For the same reason that people pay park admission, and then pay for overpriced dinners while getting autographs from fictional characters. Why not just find a restaurant outside of the parks and pay a much more reasonable price for better food?

Because when they're on vacation people just like doing stuff that they wouldn't ordinarily do at home.

And in an outside bar you won't find different drinks from different countries that are served to you by a native from that country, and you won't be able to soak up atmosphere as though you were really in that country...
