Lots of talk of Drinking Around the World @EPCOT...anybody drink (or eat) around the Monorail (Contemporary, Polynesian and Grand Floridian?!?!?!) Where should we start/end??? I know that there are more than one bar at each resort...which ones should we hit? Specialty drinks we shouldn't miss?!?! :cutie: :cutie:

me and my mom did this one night when we were on a trip together last august. it was raining so we called it an early night from the parks, and since we were staying at the poly, we decided to drink around the monorail. we started at the GF and ended at the poly. we thought Mizner's was nice, since they gave us nuts to snack on with our drinks. i don't remember what drinks we got where, but it was right after the "standardized" drink menus had started, so the only place we could really get something "special" was a lapu lapu or backscratcher type stuff at the poly. we had a great time doing this!

Sounds like a perfect post game to drinking around the world especially if one is staying at a monorail resort or even taking the buses.

Dh and I did this last year on our 25th anniversary trip in September. We started at the Contemporary (watched all of the families entering CHef Mickeys), then went to Poly (watched everyone who was going to MNSSHP), and ended the night at GF. At the GF lounge a couple even got engaged. WE had a great time.

Oh yes...we did a monorail drinkathon in December at a DVCer meet....had about 10 of us. Started at the contemporary where they made a drink named after me! Then onto the Poly with some lavalava drink (can't remember the name, but it came in a pineapple) . Then to the GF where they weren't overly accommodating as they made us wait for a half hour before the bar opened. We opted for drinking out at the pool bar just before it closed.

Great fun! Use your Disney Dining card if you have one!

This is a great idea. I've thought about doing it before. Now that I know that Boardwalk doesn't have entertainment on Tuesday nights, maybe we'll do this instead our first night there.

No, sorry. I have no idea about the hours of Jellyrolls. I was talking about the buskers and other free entertainment. According to Steve Soares' site, they are only there Thursday to Saturday.

Ah, gotcha there. . .it still makes AC a great alternative to boardwalk on Tuesday. ..specially since I am moving to BWI on the 27th. . .Wednesday

Jellyrolls shall never close! :scared1:

That said, drinking (and snacking!) around the monorail does sound like fun. But I must say, nothing beats sitting at the Dawa Bar on a cold January day sipping a Gingersnap, and watching the world go by... :flower3:

Whats a Gingersnap and where is the Dawa Bar?!?!? :confused3

well, i know the dawa bar is in AK. it's right next to tusker house, near the safari. love that bar! don't know what a gingersnap is, though, and i would love to hear about it!

Don't forget that the Contemporary has a viewing platform for Wishes on the 4th floor, same level as the bar, and they let you take your drinks out there.

Thanks for the tip! :thumbsup2
I am not familar enough with these hotels...where are the best bars at each resort located in relation to the monorail? Do we need to go up/down a level, etc
