Disclaimer: It was just my husband and I on this trip and we are both picky eaters. We are 26 and 27 with no kids. We did have the dining plan but we didn't use it all the time.
6/17/05
*Dinner at Shutters in the CBR - Although it was our anniversary, we did not make any PS due to the fact that we were not sure if our flight would arrive on time. We got there without PS at 5:30 and were at our table by 5:45. Our server was great and so were our drinks. DH had a Banana Cabana and I can't remember what I had. The problem was with the food. It wasn't great but it wasn't bad. For an appetizer, we ordered the crabcakes. Not bad, but not great. Neither of us liked the cornmeal coating on them. For our meals, I had the shrimp and rice dish and DH had the shrimp fettuccine w/yellow tomato sauce. The shrimp was great but we didn't care for the rest of meal. The rice was bad and DH's sauce was a broth. Neither of us finished our food and we did not order dessert. We both agreed that the food was not bad, it just wasn't anything great. We would have been just as happy eating in the food court next door. We probably would have been happier because it would have been cheaper. Dinner with 2 drinks, one appetizer and two meals was $67 w/o tip.
*Dinner at Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe in MK - Yes we ate earlier but since we had been up since 3:30am and only ate at Shutter's, we were hungry again by midnight. DH was craving a hamburger and since this was the only place that was open, we ate here. I just had fries and a drink and DH had the hamburger meal. Really, what is there to say? It was a typical theme park counter service meal. *We used the dining plan for this meal and I was charged for two CS meals even though we only got one. I didn't feel like arguing because I knew I wouldn't use that one credit and because it just wasn't that big of a deal to me.*
6/18/05
*Lunch at Sunshine Seasons in Epcot - DH had a sandwich and I had the chicken and tabbouleh salad. We both liked our meals and we would go again in a heartbeat. We used 2 CS credits.
*Dinner at Coral Reef - Let me say, I LOVED it. Our waiter was great, the restaurant was so cute and I loved the food. For drinks, DH had a white russian and a blue drink I think I had a margarita and something else. We had the crabcake and Caesar salad as appetizers. The crabcake was one of the best I've had. The Caesar salad was a Caesar salad, nothing special there. For our meals, DH had the lobster (his first time eating it) and I had the shrimp. The shrimp were huge and very good. I wasn't a huge fan of the sauce, it was smoky and was almost like a BBQ sauce, but it was OK. I also loved DH's lobster. He didn't care for it, he decided that he was not a lobster person. For dessert I had a chocolate wave and DH had the Bermuda Triangle. We both liked the desserts and I'm not even a huge chocolate fan! Although I was extremely happy with the meal, DH wasn't and because of that we wouldn't go back. We used a total of 4 TS meals. If we paid cash, dinner alone (without drinks) would have been $123. The four drinks were around $40.

*Lunch at Backlot Express in MGM - DH had a cheeseburger and I had the grilled turkey and cheese sandwich. Just like Cosmic Ray's the meal was nothing to complain about and nothing special. We used 2 CS credits.
*Dinner at Ohana's - before dinner, we sat at the bar for a while. DH had the best pina colada he has ever had and someother drink. I can't even remember what drinks I had. All I can remember is that they were good. For an appetizer, we had the best egg rolls ever. Ohana's definitely lived up to it's reputation. We got a window seat with out asking and our server was wonderful. Eventhough we are not huge meat eaters, I still wanted to give it a try. DH loved the wings and the shrimp wontons. I was a fan of the turkey and shrimp. Neither of us cared for the beef or pork. It was way too much food for just 2 people and we felt like we wasted it all. DH said he wouldn't go back. I would go back, but with at least 4 people in our party. We used 2 TS credits. Dinner would have been $63. The drinks and appetizer were around $50.
6/20/05
*Breakfast at Old Port Royale in the CBR - We both had the mickey waffle. It was a plain waffle, not much more to it. We used 2 CS credits.
*Lunch at Pizzafari in Epcot - DH loved his pepperoni pizza and I just had breadsticks w/sauce. Typical CS place. Nothing special. We paid cash for this meal.
*Dinner at Alfredo's in Epcot - DH and I both LOVED this place. Our waitress was great and so was the food. DH had two white russians and I had two italian margaritas. For an appetizer DH got calamari and I got a caesar salad. They were both fabulous. For our meals, DH got the Trio and I got the Fettuccine w/shrimp. We both loved our food and would go back in a heartbeat. My favorite part was the olive oil and romano cheese the brought out with the bread. I've never seen romano cheese in olive oil, just cracked pepper or garlic or balsamic vinegar. Even though the alfredo sauce is their speciality, we were barely able to eat it since it was so rich! For dessert, I had the panna cotta and DH had the chocolate mousse. Neither of us were too impressed with the desserts. Without drinks, dinner would have been $84.30. We used 2 TS credits. The drinks were around $40.

*Breakfast at the Concourse Steakhouse in the Contemporary - DH wanted at least one real sit down breakfast during the trip so he chose here. He had the platter with french toast, eggs, potatoes and biscuit. He added the macadamia nut butter to the french toast and it was so good. He ate everything except the potatoes. I had the pancakes w/bananas. We both liked it and would go back for breakfast. Breakfast plus a mimosa was $30.
*Dinner at San Angel Inn in Epcot - DH loved this place, I wasn't too impressed. For appetizers, we had the ceviche and the nachos. Although we liked both appetizers, the nachos were the favorite. For dinner, DH had the dinner plate with the flauta, chicken enchilada and steak. He said the enchilada was one of the best, the flauta was so-so and he didn't even touch the steak since it he isn't a steak eater. I had the chicken with the cheese, peppers and onions. I liked the chicken but didn't care of the cheese sauce at the bottom. I'm convinced that theme park rice sucks. I swear the have the same gross rice in Disneyland. Since we were so full, we didn't order dessert. Dinner was $73.47, we used 2 TS credits. DH said he would go back, but I wouldn't. The two beers I had were $11 without tip.

*Breakfast at Old Port Royale in CBR - I got pancakes and DH got the banana stuffed french toast. Nothing special. We used our last two CS credits.
We had PS for every restaurant besides Shutters. At every restaurant except Alfredo's, we got there about an hour early. Each time we were seated with in 15 minutes, if not less. As far as the dining plan goes, part of me thinks it's a waste. You end up ordering more food than you can eat because you can and it gives you a chance to try everything. But at the same time, when you include the cost of snacks and CS, I think we saved at least $50.
I also do not get why some people are so confused when they get to the parks about what they can and can not have. Everything is answered in the little pamphlet they give you when you check in. It even tells you what size water you can get and it states if you go to a buffet, you get the meal only, no extra desserts. All it takes is a few minutes of reading on your part.
I'll post a full trip report later but for now, here's the dining part. Hope you all enjoy!
