If you do bring your own, and fill up at the beverage station, you are asked to use the cups provided to fill up your mug.

I really don't understand the difference... ( And, no I'm not trying to start a debate or get flamed. On the cruise, I do as asked and use a new cup each time).
Yes, you are asked to use a new cup each time you get a drink from the beverage station... What's interesting is that in the resorts, you can use the refill mug they sell you to do all the refills you want; however, on the cruise line you have to use a new cup each time... I really don't understand the difference... ( And, no I'm not trying to start a debate or get flamed. On the cruise, I do as asked and use a new cup each time).
one word: NOROVIRUS.
and therefor a common cold or norovirus spread's a lot more quickly - guest to guest, guest - crew, crew - crew and then the ship is unable to operate if the crew are sick, and therefor unable to accept new guest's.

As quoted previously above!

newbie here... so dumb question time...
So the soda's are free?? This is our first time cruising and we've called a LOT of cruise lines and found most you had to buy a soda card/package/whatever... is this not the case with DCL? (how wonderful to think I may get to drink something other than water!!!)

You pay for soda if you order from room service, buy at any bar/lounge, or order from a walking around waiter.
Free with meals or at the outside self-service location (Deck 9 on Magic/Wonder; Deck 11 on Dream/Fantasy).
On CC free at the self-service locations or one cabanas(if you get one), but you pay if ordered from a waiter or one of the bars.
