Drink question

The drink station was closed pretty promptly at 11:00 pm and did not open until at least 6:00 am on the 7/19 cruise.

Wow, Doctor P. Closed 19 hours/day. Talk about cutbacks...

On Jan 11..the drink station was roped off and manned. You could not get your own drinks, for health reasons. I am not sure if it was manned 24/7, but I know there was a line at the station at 6:00 AM. So maybe they were closed overnight. For me and my family, the soda programs are worth it! We are all soda drinkers, so it pays.

The last time I was on a cruise (non-Disney), one of the drinks they sold poolside was lemonade in a souvenier sports bottle. Does Disney do anything like this? I have heard of the refillable soda mugs, but I am not a soda drinker. Just wondering if I should bring my own sports bottle, or if I can buy 1 drink on the ship and then refill it with lemonade, water or something non-fizzy.

This wasn't the case on the January 5-9th 2003 Wonder cruise. We were able to get our own drinks at the free beverage station (as well as serve ourselves at the buffets).

We had some quaranteened (sic) people on our ship, due to the Norwalk virus. That may be why they roped it off, and we could not serve ourselves at the buffets.

Do they still let you refill a souvenier tropical drink glass with a drink from the bar for the same price as a regular drink? I didn't know that you could do this til the end of the cruise and I'm hoping it hasn't changed.

I've been on two cruises and have never heard this before! Is it true? I would love to know the answer as I'd definately take advantage of this! Thanks.

It was true on my last cruise. I used the souvenier drink glass I bought when I got my first drink of the day by filling it with Friday's Margerita's I brought with me. I was sitting at the pool with my empty glass and a server asked if I wanted a drink and I ordered one. The server asked me if I would like it in my souvenier glass and explained that I said sure...

I was charged the same as I would for a regular drink but it was in the larger glass. I did this more than once with other servers so I think it is what they do but have never heard anyone else mention this. So I am curious if anyone else has done this too.
