Drink Packages

The last Disney Cruise I was on was back in 2002 and we were able to buy a soda package for my kids and we were allowed to bring beer/wine on board which we did. Do they still allow this or can you buy a drink package ahead of time..

Soft drinks, tea, and coffee are free and available 24 hours a day at the drink station. Each adult may bring on board 2 bottles of wine or 1 six-pack of beer.

Each adult can bring that amount on at each port, so start by bringing that amount, buy more at the first port, etc. It is, however, only supposed to be consumed in your stateroom. Wine you could drink in the MDR, but is subject to a corkage fee (not really worth it unless you have a very pricy bottle.)

It's a 6 pack or 2 bottles of wine at embarkation and at each port of call. So you can restock during your cruise. There is also a beer mug that will get you a larger refill for the cost of a smaller one. I've never done that one so I'm not clear on the details.

Sounds good, but we only have one port stop but we are there for 3 days..Bermuda 10/13/18.. Sons wedding. Can i leave the ship every day and purchase more.?

I would think so! DCL doesn't often have multiple days at one port, so not positive about that though. You do need to 'carry on' any beverages and not put them in packed luggage--would really only matter on embarkation day.

I'm not sure on that because I've never done a cruise that overnights at the same port.

You need to up your ABV on your beer, then. I've had beers that come in 12 oz. bottles and would leave you almost comatose after two, if not three of them.

Right, and I thought I read that the ships now have Loose Cannon on tap. That ABV is up there.

They did when I was on in November/December. I don't know if they still do or not.

You may bring onboard whatever non-alcoholic beverages you want. In any amount. Just be aware it must be carried on (not in checked bags) and you'll be wrangling it until your room is ready (usually around 1:30).
