About 5 yrs ago when we were at universal we bought plastic cups that were red and you could refill them in the parks for free or discount can't remember for sure. But anyway do they still offer this and how much is it and where do u get them and can they be used for a few days or only one day

Also staying at cabana bay is it good there also in the cafeteria

At Cabana Bay they have the sonic cups. They are the Coke Freestyle. You pay per day or per stay and it is unlimited refills. One day is $8.99 + tax, two days is $11.99 + tax, three days is $14.99 + tax, or a mug for the length of stay is $17.99 + tax. The mugs work for fountain beverage, Coke Freestyle, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and ICEEs.

At the parks there is Coke Freestyle as well but it can't be used at the hotel. This is also a pay per day or stay and is unlimited refills. It is $13.99/day

They no longer sell they red discounted refill cup. However, you can buy a souvenir character cup from the gift stores and they have the discounted refills.

We were able to use our red refill cups in the parks this past November with no problems. It was less then $1.50 with tax. In 3Broomsticks and Leaky Caldron, you can get cold apple cider, pear cider, lemonade or tea for the refill price. But we had them from a previous trip. Damo is right, they no longer sell those. If you managed to save your from 5 years ago, it's definitely a good deal.

The red cups are not valid at Cabana Bay. Enjoy your trip!

Can I use the park ones for 4 days in the park or do we need to buy a new one every day

I think I have two red cups out of four in the basement. Haha. I may try it

We have never had anyone bat an eye when we ask them to refill our red cups. Wash those old ones off and bring them! They will only be able to be refilled at counter service places and food kiosks that serve fountain drinks. They do not work with the Freestyle machines.

If you get the freestyle cups, here is a good tutorial on those: http://blog.touringplans.com/2015/08/28/refillable-mugs-universal-orlando-worth-wasted/
But the refills are no longer $0.99 as they state in the article, now about $1.20.

Can anyone comment on the availability of plain soda water at any of the kiosks/drink stations that are NOT freestyle?
Wondering if I can get just plain anywhere to make a cup worthwhile...

We brought our old red cups in Aug and Dec. Water was free at Counter service and kiosks, cannot use at Freestyle kiosks though. Soda, Powerade and lemonade were less than $1.50...think they were $1.29? You can also have them filled with frozen lemonade/slurpee drinks for $3.75 I believe. Was a great deal and so glad someone here told us about this as it saved us a ton of money!!!
