Drink and popcorn refills?

Thanks for all this great info about the drinks.

DS is a popcorn addict, any info about that?popcorn::

I bought a popcorn bucket on my trip last October, so I know they do offer it. Refills were pretty inexpensive and available at many of the kiosks/carts set up throughout the park. I'm not sure of the pricing, but it must've seemed like a bargain at the time. Or I must really like popcorn. :rolleyes1

I'll be at US/IOA on Sunday so I can check then, but in the meantime, All Ears lists the prices of 2008 as follows:

Souvenir Popcorn Bucket 4.49
Bucket refill 1.99

they lowered the price of the popcorn refill last summer, it's now the same as a soda refill - 85 cents with tax

Thanks !! I still don't know if Meal Deal restaurants have the refillable deal or do you have to get your meal one place and your drink another ?? I heard you cah get refills at Citywalk too ,is this correct ??

Meal Deal cup is $8.99 and you get free refills all day.

Looks like this refill cup can only be filled at the meal deal restaurants. I believe these are different types of cups also so I don't think you can get fill-up at the other places even at a price.

Yeah! :cheer2:

I can now confirm this. I was there April 11, 2010 and here are the pics of the signs I saw at both US and IOA.

The popcorn they had in 1999 and 2000 was the best--they actually had flavor/seasoning powder you could sprinkle on your popcorn at some of the stands.

I made some interesting combinations with those...

The popcorn refil deal sounds awesome !!! I think 1 or 2 buckets between 5 of us would be plenty and to get refills for 79c is awesome !!

This thread has been very helpful! Can anyone give an idea on the size of the popcorn bucket. Likely the boys will each be carrying a small backpack bag to hold things like cups, water, snacks. Are buckets bigger and awkward to carry around or smaller (single serving size) that will easily fit in a small backback bag?

don't know anything about popcorn I'm a pretzel kinda gal. :)

POP I know too much about
US/IofA has two kinds of refillable cups one is the meal deal cup and one is the souvenir cup. The souvenir cup is good forever and fits easily in a small bag/backpack. I looked rather silly in June at IofA with my souvenir cup, butterbeer mug, Hog's Head Ale mug and bottled water. :lmao: but it was sooo worth it. Looking forward to next summer in the land of Potter.
have a magical time:wizard:

I have a Sponge Bob cup that I have had for 5 years and they still refill it. Didn't know about the popcorn..Anyone have a picture of that? I think I will take a backpack this year....I like to be unencumbered but I need my"stuff" with me. and a popcorn bucket sounds like my kind of "stuff".

Great info here-especially that you can bring the mug back. We're thinking about 3-4 days at the parks and being able to take the mug back is great. Popcorn too! Going to keep this discussion handy. Does anyone know the price of the slushy? SIL lives for slushies at the parks. Wish DW refillable mugs worked in the parks that way instead of just the resorts.

I just read that if you have AAA you can get 10% discount at shops and food places --does anyone know if that includes the refillable mugs and the refills or is it only in the TS restaurants.

You can also get the discount a counter service restaurants in the parks as well. I don't think the refills are discounted any more than they already are.

I'm pretty sure I got the 10% off of the refill with my aaa card...doesn't hurt to ask!

You can get ice cold water in the mugs....I needed a break from soda.

The counter service restaurants will give you a discount on the refill price. The carts were hit and miss....

The popcorn container is 64 oz. (half a gallon). The refills are 79 cents for both the popcorn and the drinks. You can get annual pass and AAA discounts if you get it at a counter service. The only outside food booths that can give you a discount are the ones that take credit cards. Not that you need to pay with a CC but the ones who have credit card machines are hooked up to an internet computer server. Unless they have that type of computer for a register, they aren't able to give discounts.
