I went the spring before last and read before hand about people who dress up their windows in the resorts. I bought a few random Gel sticky things and used those. This time around ( I leave in 29 days! ) I bought some fun die cuts and other fun paper stuff. I heard that you cant use tape to tack them up? So what do I do? What should I use or how do I put them up? TIA!

Window clings should stick by themselves, but if not, suction cups would probably work.

If the tape leaves a residue on the window, that's the problem. One easy way to solve this is to take a small container of nail polish remover with you and a cotton ball. After you remove the decorations, just wipe off the residue and you'll be fine. Oh - and vinegar works well too.

A short window decorating tale:

When I did my quick solo weekend trip last December, I'd put some Christmas window clings in my Pop window to find it quicker.

Little did I know that the folks who arrived after me did the same thing and they thought I was part of their group of people since my window clings were like theirs. After being awakened by someone knocking on my door 2 mornings in a row to wake me up so I wouldn't be late to meet up with their group, I took them down.
I'd have thought they'd have realized I wasn't with them after I explained it to the person the first time but I guess the 2nd morning someone else did the knocking. It's funny to think about now but not at the time when I was sleeping. LOL

I didn't put anything in my window at POR this spring - I decided with my luck it would happen again.

i wouldnt use duct tape , if you can deal with it painters tape will work but at Christmas time we always decorate the room with a tree , lights and garlin not the only person, but it does make it feel more like Christmas

We wrap glow Sticks on our door knob. They usually last long enough to draw attention.

We always deco our windows. My sister painted a few disney characters and we hang them from command hook. Easy up and down with no mess or residue.

Admittedly not something my family does (we do magnets on the Disney Cruise Lines) but I don't see it being an issue

I thought I read somewhere that you couldnt use Tape on the windows? I have these paper girls holding mickey balloons and I a few paper die cuts. I may get some halloween gels If I find some before I go.

Saw a room at the Poly last night when i was there for dinner and someone did have decals on the window facing outside. Was first floor so was cool to see

Correct, no tape or tacks. And no decorations at DVC resorts unless the decorations can only be seen inside the villa, not from the outside.

You can hang items on the window from the inside of your room, suction cups are allowed, but if you are in a deluxe resort that has a balcony you aren't supposed to put any decorations outside.
