Dressing up as a Disney Character for Halloween At Disney World

How does the Disney character react when they see someone dressed up like them for the Halloween party? I'll be at Disney World next Friday to the following Thursday, and am planning to dress up as Cruella DeVil. No reason why as I do love dogs. I figured that her costume would be siple, and easy to pack. I don't have the coat. But, I do have the dress, and the wig. But, I've heard that the Disney characters at the parks get a big kick out of guests who dress up like them, for the Halloween party.

My favorite was hearing of some people who dressed up as the skeleton band in the Boo-To-You parade. The band blew kisses at them when they passed them.

just remember to refuse strangers who come up to you and ask for a picture. That's a big no no, if a CM sees you doing that they can ask you to leave the party.

My kids were Duffy and Shellie May last week, lots of attention from CM's, guests and characters. Sadly we couldn't meet Duffy.

A few years ago I dressed as Jane from "Tarzan" in the yellow outfit with parasol and at the meet and greet she seemed super excited to see somebody dressed as her. She had me loping about on the ground with her in a gorilla tutorial. The photopass guy was having a blast with that one.

At a Party a few years ago, my CM friend "bounded" as Cruella with a white and black polka-dotted dress, white hair strands clipped in her hair, and bright red high heeled shoes.

Even though my friend didn't know Cruella's "friend," as Boo To You passed by, Cruella spotted her (pun perhaps intended) and came from the other side of the parade route to hug her and admired her outfit!

So, be sure to get Cruella's attention as she passes by. Have fun!!

I dressed as a genderbent Jack Skellington for MNSSHP two years ago, and when I met him and Sally, they oohed and aahed over my costume! It was so fun! Sally and I talked about spiders, because I had spider earrings and a spider bow in my hair, and Jack admired my tailcoat and how "fantastically scary" I was. It was really cool!

DD and I were Snow White and Rapunzel a few years ago (Blue teeshirt and a yellow tutu for me, a light purple shirt and a multicolored pink/purple tutu for DD, and when we went to the m&g with them and their princes, they fussed over our costumes for a good long time, asking who made them, and being very impressed when we said we did. It was fantastic. (DD had a wig, but decided at the last minute she didn't want to deal with it all night.)

Maleficent was quite appropriately 'snooty' when she saw me in my Maleficent outfit! It was really pretty funny. Dd was Aurora! Many fun CM comments. Will never do it again though...huge pain getting in and out of rides.
