I was bald until I was almost 2, mom used to scotch tape bows to my head (she hated those headbands with a passion), dress me head to toe in pink, and invariably someone would say what a handsome little man I was.
This happens with my kiddos all the time.. My son, especially, is mistaken for a girl because he is surrounded by sisters. People just assume its another girl even though hes wearing superheros and his hair is super short.. I get asked if my youngest is a boy even though she is always in pink or purple dresses (I let her older sisters pick all her clothing). It makes no sense but it does lead for a few laughs.
