Hi,

For all of you ladies who got married already, where did you put your dress on the plane?

Thanks!

It really depends on what you are most comfortable with. I checked my dress and hoped for the best - the dress traveled to and from Florida with no problems. You can also bring it as a carry on in a garmet bag and ask that the staff hang it for you, if your airline allows it/has room. I have even heard of some purchasing an extra plane ticket just for the dress. I didn't have a huge attachment to my dress - I would have gotten married in my underwear if it came down to it, but not everyone is so laid back about it. My only advice is not to get too worked up about it. The reality is that even if a bag is lost, 99% of the time it is returned within 24 hours. I know that this isn't the best scenerio for most, but again checking the bag worked best for us as we had a lot of other things to carry-on such as our rings, my bridal jewelry, the gifts for bridal party, and other more important items.

I took my dress as carry-on. I was told that they could hang it. Well, their closet was broken, so it ended up in the overhead bin. Some guy thought it was a "real fluffy pillow" and almost took it down. :) Anyway, I knew that it was going to get steamed in Florida so I wasn't too worried about it. I had a big poofy dress and it was no problem.

Hi! I think we are going to buy a seat on the plane (1 way) for the dresses. It sounds funny, but just to make sure it doesn't get ruined. We will probably fly jet blue so it will be around $50 and worth not having to worry about it! just a thought!?! Happy Holidays!!!

We bought a seat for my dress (one way) on Jetblue. It was totally worth the $60 we paid for the ticket for my piece of mind. I have a few bad expereicnes with lost luggage that I wouldn't risk checking my dress. On the way home, we just shoved the dress into an overhead compartment. The flight attendant was really nice about making sure people didn't crush my dress when putting their luggage into the same compartment.

I ended up hanging it on a hook behind some first class seats on one plane and all the others I had to put it in an overhead bin. Once it was closed, noone tryed to open or put anything on it. :) Most people were really interested in where we were getting married!! princess:
