We followed the recommended jacket and tie for dh and I wore a skirt (nothing fancy-just nice).
I was surprised at how casual others were. Some were wearing more "beach like" attire-shorts, t-shirts etc.
I think the dress for the brunch should be dressy casual. Such as, for the guys, khaki pants and a polo. Ladies have it much easier than the guys in this case. A summer dress with sandals covers a lot of "recommended" attire.
I feel this way for the brunch but not for the dinner. Pretty much everyone is semi dressed up for dinner everywhere on the ship and it is in the evening with a show.
When it is mid morning, most people will be dressing for a casual day on board. So,with the jacket requirement, those that follow the rule seemed way over dressed when there are others way to casual.
If there was a happy medium for brunch, I think more people would follow.
DH didn't mind being dressed up. We are rule followers. Plus, how many times do we get to go to such an awesome restuarant?
