Do you have a dress code at school? We cannot wear shorts or skirts 6 in. above the knee. We also can't wear spaggetti (sp?) strap tank tops. It sucks because, it's so hot now :sunny: (like, 101 degrees everyday) :earseek: and I was sorta mad because of the "no shorts" thing. I mean, you'd think that they'd at least let us wear bermuda shorts? Oh well. :confused3

It's kind of a random question but, I was curious :confused3 lol :teeth:

yeah get this..

We have a "dress code"

The principal apparently had a "REALLY STRICT DRESS CODE" in the handbook but in reality, I saw more girls butts this year than I wanted to see in my lifetime. The skirts. I wanted to hurl. It was the most immodest, unflattering, *beep*...*beep*...*(!&#*(&!...*beep*.. and the guy did absolutely NOTHING about it. And it not like he didn't see it! He saw it all!

IF YA GET WHAT I MEAN.

*WINK* The guy got fired. We get a woman this year. I hope they make all those.. *beep* cover themselves and stop making me nauseus.

I wear pants pretty much everyday, so a shorts dresscode really wouldn't bother me. And usually the only skin you see on me is my face. But I can see how it would bother some people.

Yeah, we had alot of people showing their butts last year. Very nasty. :earseek: We have a new principle this year so, maybe she'll get things straight. ;)

Yeah, I wear pants almost everyday, but in this heat It's so hot in pants. :sunny: :dog2: Maybe it'll cool off soon. :confused3 ..thanx! :goodvibes

i have a really strit dress code compared to public schools. to some people it sounds like a uniform, but we have some more choices than a uniform. we have to wear a blazer(unless it is 80 degrees out and they tell us we dont need them) either a polo or oxford shirt(in certian colors and they cant have stripes or pictures, but they can be leanant(SP?) on the colors) either kaki pants or kaki skirts(the tips of your fingers have to touch the bottom of your skirt) or kaki bermuta shorts. you cant wear sneakers and your shoes have to be either black or brown(normally, as long as they are nice shoes they are pretty much aceptable). and in the winter you can wear a gray wool skirt or gray pants. and in the winter sometimes we are allowed to wear like a fleece or something and a coat over our balzers. and our blazers has to have the school patch on it.(if you have more than one blazer, only one has to have the patch)we arent allowed to wear capris.

ooo and then when we have like a formal thing the girls have to wear this really ugly blue kilt with red, yellow and green plaid on it, with a white oxford and a blazer.

everyday the boys have to wear either kaki pants or kaki bermuta shorts. and either a polo or an oxford shirt(colors are limited again) and a blazer with the school patch one it. they also have to wear a school tie. either the school tie or their class tie(every class has their own tie...freshman-green w/ yellow stripes....sophmore-blue and gold striped...junior-blue w/ red and gold stripes...senior-red w/ silver stripes...the school tie-red and silver striped.) or they can wear the school bowtie(which is sooo cute) they arent alllowed to wear sneakers either and they have to have leather soles. and if we have something formal they just have to wear what they wear to class.

but if i went to the high school in my district(which is a public school) they dont have a dress code at all, they dont care what you wear or what you do...

wow, sorry that was so long...

ok..well we have a strict dress code for a public school. if you are not to the dress code, you will be punished.
we have the normal skirt thing, and tank top thing. We can't have ripped jeans on the butt or with too many holes on the leg. we can wear headbands more than an inch unless they have have a purpose. we can't wear bandanas on the head nor can we wear hats. no middrift. oh there something else that is really ridiculous but i can't think!!888

:rotfl: I SO sympathize with you!! :rotfl: My best friend and I are constantly laughing about the girls we see in the mall wearing skirts that are little more than fabric belts of some kind . . . oh yea, we SO wanted to know that chick bending over in the corner is wearing a red thong. :crazy2: And that sick principal did nothing?? That's just disgusting. Hopefully the new woman will improve things. ;)

I'm homeschooled and I don't have a dress code, but my standard dress is jeans and tee shirts. If it's 100 degrees outside and for some wacked out reason I plan to be out it in, I'll wear shorts and wide-strapped tank-top. I've been so lucky as to find some that don't make be bear all :rotfl: . I like to think I'm a girl of true style :smooth: :teeth: .

Last year we had a uniform- Kakli(sp?) pants, shorts, and anything else I forgot... NO OUTSIDE POCKETS! Only maroon and navy shirts with the logo. TUCKED! :faint: But that school closed :)

THIS YEARS DRESS CODE- navy(blue), black, Kakli(white), or gray pants. OUTSIDE POCKETS ALLOWED :cheer2: any color shirt as long as they have a collar(sp?) but the shirts have to be plain (no stripes, lines, ect) they dont have to be tucked :cheer2: and shirks but you have to get them at a place (only theirs) and I am not sure about shorts
I  that as a dress code lol :goodvibes

welll I go to a public school so the only thing we're not supposed to wear/show is our stomach, boys have to wear they're pants high enough to not show their"undergarments" (but it's amazing how many still do) and no spaghetti straps
I :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc :lovestruc going to a public school

wow!to me all them seam like strict dress codes. i go to a private church school. the "dress codes" are slightly different.

from 1-6 grades your allowed to wear shorts that cover your butt,(if you don't they send you home) only in the months of may, june, and september.

from 7-10 grades you have to wear long pants year round except for gym class or basketball day. i'm in 8th grade. (pitty me)

no one allowed to wear tank tops. you are allowed to have pictures, stripes,
ext. on the shirts and pants. we are not allowed to wear hats either.

:teacher: i hate school

i have a dress code, because i go to a private school. at my new school, this year, our uniforms arent as strict as my old school, but i like them. i like our dress codes atually. theyre nice. i just spruse them up with my LOVELY pins, studded belts, black nail polish, and whatever else i have that can put a nice little twist on them :)

but we also have days called "dress down day" or "jeans day" and we are allowed to wear what we like. but those are usually on party days or half days. at my old school, if you wanted to dress down on those special days, yoou had to buy a jean's pass a few days in advance of the jeans day so you could hand that in. the principal wrote our names on them and the grade. i thought that was a good idea, so people who didnt pay, couldnt dress down. (yea, you even had to pay for it)

I go to a lutheran private school so we a have a dress code that is pretty strict. we dont have to wear uniforms, yet, but they really get on us if we dont follow it. they have threatened us with making us wear uniforms.

Well we don't have an actual dress code but we can't wear spaghetti strap tank tops, no flip-flops, no shorty shorts or short skirts. But it doesn't matter cause no one takes it seriously everyone wears that stuff any way

:paw:

Well we have always had a dress code it was just never inforced. Not this year. Our school has like Nazis walking around just looking for people to write up. You of course can't wear speghetti straps, and your tanks have to be 2 fingers wide. That doesn't bug me. It the new one. That if when you raise your hand and your stomach or back is showing you get wrote up and if you like bend over to pick a paper of pencil up than you get wrote up it is really bad. Luckily I have not gotten wrote up yet. BUt afterall it was the first week of school. I think they wanted to enforce it more this year b/c after last years epidemic of pregnancies(sp?) they don't want another one this year.

I'm not going to go through the entire thing because it's very, very long but:

We can't whear red and blue shoe laces (gang symble)
No tube tops, spagettii straps, all sleeves must cover your shoulders.
No mini skirts or shorts, must be atleast to the knees

And again NOT the entire dress code..

ive got a few:
+no spaghetti straps or bra straps showing
+no slippers or pajamas
+no rollerskates or skate shoes (duh...)
+your fingertips have to reach the ends of your skirt. which technically means if youve got either long legs or long arms...your skirt can be quite short and they cant do anything about it...
+you cant see guys...lovely...choice of underwear. thank god. that style of guys wearing their shorts/pants to their knees is just too ridiculous and i dont see the "fashion" in it.
+no hats or bandanas
+cant show offensive tattoos
+no stomachs or backs showing

and thats pretty much it....o.0

Basicly not tube tops/ spagetti straps, no head gear (bandanas, headbands, hats), and your shorts/skirt have to be below the legnth of your arm.

- Let me start out by saying I go to a fairly big Junior High in a fairly small city... it is a also a public school and believe me some of these are like totally unreasonable...

1. NO tank tops
2. Sleveless blouses are acceptable if they are worn from as an outer shirt and the material is covering the shoulder area from the base of the neck to the break of the shoulder is a minunum of 4! inches ( ahhhhh~!!! )
3. NO clothing resembling underclothing, pj's, flannel pants, sweat suits, lounge wear house/slipper shoes
4. No Clothing that is to the point of distraction ( nobody follows that )
5. No Clothing with tobacco, drugs, etc slogans
6. No Clothing with unacceptable, vulgar, swear words, death, suicide, sex, or violence
7. No Strapless dresses or bouses
8. No Shorts or skorts, skirts are acceptable if under fingertips ( they will let girls wear tight skirts but not skorts
9. No Spandex :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
10. NO hats headbands or bandanas, caps, rollers, or picks
11. No ripped or torn clothing ( even jeans , no holes at all )
12. No garments representing a club or gang
13. Any other article that the school board deems innapropritate is not allowed

And ya'll thought yours was strict

No shorts, no skirts above the knee, No sleevless shirts, no back/belly showing, no scoop necks. Those are the main rules. The others aren't very well inforced. But if you are breaking those teachers will be all over you so fast your head will spin.

Do we go to the same school? ;) Nix number two and change 8 to none whatsoever, and we might. lol

Wow, my school has a very lax dress code... actually, until last year when we got a new principal, they weren't even inforced at all...
Wait, no... they aren't even ALL inforced... the only one that's really inforced is the 'no flip flops/sandals' rule. We can't wear flip flops or sandals without a strap on the heel, unless the toe is covered.
everyone gets around that rule by wearing those tie-up-the-ankle flip flops that Old Navy came out with this past spring (it HAS a strap on the heel! lol) and the Chinese Slipper things (it HAS a toe covering!)
