Dress code question

I had been thinking of what kinds of dressy clothes to pack for my 11 year old girl for the MDRs, and even though I know from the DIS boards no one would say anything...would a matching tank top and skirt (basically making a sun dress) be acceptable? Definitely cute, but also it IS a tank top. Then again all sundresses we have are like that as well. Just having an internal debate....and probably obsessively planning.

I'm not sure what DCL has against tank tops or what their definition of a tank top is. There are lot of very dressy looking tank tops on the market. My kids come to dinner in shorts and a T- shirt. They are nice shorts and nice t-shirts. Honestly nobody cares. Like one poster said on another thread this isn't the 70's. We are a casual society. Your daughters outfit will be fine.

My only comment on this is that you may want to pack a light weight sweater for them to wear in case they are cold. I find the MDRs on the chilly side. My DD usually feels the same and will wear a shrug over a sundress or sleeveless shirt when going to dinner.

DISCLAIMER: I don't know what Disney's definition of "tank top" is, but I believe the ban against "tank tops" is primarily aimed at those sleeveless undershirts that some men like to wear as a shirt.

That's what my take would be but I always harken back to something a friend would say: "The English language...what a clumsy way to communicate." Everything is up for interpretation!

Thanks shmoo. I was just looking at all my tops trying to find some with enough arm coverage to not be considered a tank top. Your thought makes much more sense.
OP, outfit sounds fine to me. I am planning princess dresses or tees/shorts for my 8yr old dd.
