I've been reading about some people were upset with some in shorts. My DH was planning on wearing nice shorts, nice sandals and a polo. Should he wear dockers instead? The only reason I ask is because I hate to lug his nice shoes with us for 1 dinner. They heavy and take up a lot of space. We are trying to save luggage space due to the airline changes. I plan on wearing capris and nice shirt. Our DS's will be in nice shorts, polo's and nice shoes..

I don't see any problem with that. DBF wore nice shorts to most of the signatures we went to on our recent trip, though he did go with slacks for CA Grill. It was our last night, so we dressed up a little more. I just don't like seeing people in the same type of shorts they would wear to the park, but a nice pair of khaki or chino shorts is fine.

I think nice shorts are fine - and I'm pretty snobby about clothing in nice restaurants =)

The clothing you are suggesting fits well within the guidelines set by WDW. If there are diners who don't like it, perhaps they are in the wrong place. I can't imagine caring about what someone else is wearing. I hope you enjoy your meal there; CG continues to be one of our fav signatures.

You may see some folks in suits, and you may see others in khaki shorts - the safest would be smart casual, but you could also consider khaki pants or jeans with a nicer pair of flip flops/sandals/etc
