Disney Cruise Line® has altered its dress code, and now requires that gentlemen wear a dress shirt when dining at Palo. A jacket (or tie) is still suggested but not required. Gentlemen wearing t-shirts, golf shirts, Tommy Bahamas type shirts, etc. will be turned away.

This information is included in the Disney Cruise Line® Personal Navigator aboard the ship and the Palo reservation confirmation card. In addition, there is also a small sign outside the elevators on Deck 10, aft. The Champagne Brunch and High Tea will remain Resort Casual.

:boat: Just an FYI for anyone that needs to know.

This appears to be a tightening of the dress code which I believe is a good thing. On our 6/20 Wonder cruise, I would say that 50% of the men wore jackets at Palo, 40% wore a dress shirt and tie, and 10% wore golf shirts (no tie obviously). So, the effect might be fewer men in jackets, but it will also eliminate the dress-down crowd.

No enforcement last weekend...although most people were dressed up for Palo, we saw men in what definitely were not dress shirts. We had a family with the guys in shorts in Triton's too. I know Disney tries, but I think the dress code is a losing battle.

Just because you may never achieve 100% compliance doesn't mean you shouldn't fight the battle. I am still planning to pack a jacket for Palo, but I hope to reserve ties for weddings, funerals, and anniversaries that end in a "0". Unless DW throws her usual snit. (In case you can't tell, I hate ties!)

I agree. I would like to see them inforce this dress code.

My DH is not one to dress up. On our recent Western Cruise I made him wear a button down shirt, dress pants, and a belt.. I then asked him to tuck in his shirt which was a whole other conversation--- He looked quite presentable and then we went to Palo brunch where the 1st person we saw was in a basketball tank top and basketball shorts. Of course I got the roll of the eyes but am now hoping not to see that sort of dress again. My DH works outside as a tree-man and landscape and that is why he does not like to dress up. It is just not him but he is usually willing to tuck in a shirt for me. I like the somewhat dress code.

Thanks for the info. It's nice to hear these things before you get on the ship. :D

That's funny. I ha :smooth: ve the exact opposite problem with my husband. He dresses up for work all the time so he doesn't want to dress up on vacation. I like seeing him dress up to be with us onec ina hile so I told him he had to wear a suit to dinner!! LOL
