Hi,

Can anyone tell me what the dress code is for the Yachtsman Steakhouse? Dressy, Casual like slacks or very casual like jeans?

thanks,
Melissa

We've dined there 4 or 5 times. I have to say I've never worn jeans there and I have never seen anyone wearing jeans there. I would go with dressy casual (like slacks).

Well, I have seen people in shorts here! Would I wear that ....no.....but I see nothing wrong with a guy wearing jeans with a nice dress shirt. That is very common and my hubby wore that.

As long as you dont' wear a swimsuit or tank top you should be good to go.

We saw people in jeans the night we went, no problem.

We went in July and saw people in all attire. DH did wear shorts, but nice ones, with a nice shirt. I wore capris and a top.
Personally I wouldnt feel comfortable there in park attire(which we did see), but its obviously allowed if thats what you are looking for. :)

My casual park attire is usually Docker-type shorts and Polo shirt. Would that be out of place?

I try not to wear any long pants when I'm on vacation.

Thanks for the advice...I'm thinking we'll go with the dressy casual.

6 more days and counting down!!

Oh yes, that would be fine.

By park attire I was talking about demin shorts, tank tops, or plain tshirts. Like I said, we did see some people wearing stuff like that, but I personally would feel funny.

but I just made a ps for there and was specifically told no shorts - long pants for men & women both. I now am a bit unsure about this choice in dinning since it will be 80 + there and going to change into long pants doesn't sound like a very fun idea.

What do you all think?

When I ate there a couple of years ago, I was told no beach wear, no tank tops. I wore shorts (not denim) and a jersey top. It was early October, 80 degrees plus, many people were in shorts.

SkipperBubba pirate: and I ate there on our honeymoon in early November. We both wore "nice" shorts and polo shirts. Saw many people dressed similarly. But I must admit I felt a bit underdressed for such a lovely dining room. We're planning on going back this December, and I think I'll at least be upgrading to capris and a dressier top.
Happy dining,

Disney Mama:
That's part of the entire "dress code" dilemma at WDW-you may be told one thing by the PS person--and something quite different if you talk to the next one.
And they never seem to tell folks that this is not an enforced "code"--merely a suggested way of dressing.
As far as I am aware, shorts are still fine at all WDW restaurants except V&A.
